Chapter Nine
Brother Jacob picked up the pointer and turned to greet twenty expectant faces; their eyes full of apprehension. The girl’s didn’t know what to expect from the great man, their Father and Spiritual Leader who, without warning, had appeared at the head of their classroom. Some were clearly afraid.
Bother Jacob was empowered.
“Now class, I am taking over for Teacher Grace this afternoon. She has been called away to do the Lord’s work. You will answer to me. What do you say?”
“Yes, Father.” The hesitant voices called out in chorus.
“We will begin with exercise, children. It is important to get the blood flowing; carrying oxygen to the brain so we think clearly and are open to the new teachings. Okay girls, everyone up on your feet. Stand by your desks. Now.”
