Chapter Four Relieved of duty, Taz worked tired shoulders and opened the car door. She unbuckled her duty belt and leaned in to drop the heavy leather onto the passenger seat. It was strictly against regulations, but the belt, holster, gun, and all the other hardware she was required to carry, made life uncomfortable. And she felt just as safe knowing that her curved Kukri blade was in its sheath at the middle of her back. It resembled a carpet knife, only the blade was longer and the steel honed razor sharp on both the inside as well as the outside edge of the hook. She was just straightening when there was a tug at the back of her trousers– someone pulling on a belt loop. Taz stood and turned. “I understand you found the bodies. Would you care to comment? Are they the missing women?”
