Chapter Two -

The sound of wind sparing through leaves and branches and the smell of the earth woke up all the senses in Alexa, she jolted up, to a sitting position, facing Flavius, who was crouched in front of her, a grin on his face, "Welcome back mutt! Get dressed you have an appointment with the Elder!"

"Where am I?" Alexa asked surveilling her surroundings, it seems they were in a forest, but none that she recognized, she could hear the wind, but she couldn't feel it or see it in the branches, the smell of wet earth filled her nose but the ground was dry, everything was wrong on this forest.

"You are on the Third Floor of the Eras Palace, this room is called Forest Room, it seems that the Elder took a liking to you, he must think you would like this room better than a normal one!" He explained annoyed, "here, dress this," he ordered giving her a simple grey dress, "and hurry up, isn't wise to make the Elder wait!"

"Can you turn around, that way I'll dress quickly," she asked, pointing the difference between them.

"If I wanted to see you naked I had plenty of opportunities during the last month." He explained but turned around to give her some privacy.

Alexa changed her worn battle outfit to the simple grey dress he had given her in no time, "probably should have told you that the maids prepare you a bath before you dressed, but the Elder is waiting, so you can take a bath after the meeting," Flavius commented, with his back turned to Alexa, he couldn't see the glaring that she gave him.

"I'm ready!" She announced, and he turned to her.

"Then, let's go!" he hurried towards the door, feeling her steps following him.

Alexa followed him towards what seemed to be a labyrinth of passages, doors, and stairs until they reached a room, Flavius knocked on the door and waited for the response, then he opened the door and motioned for Alexa to go through, she looked at him inquisitively, "From here is up to you!" he stated with a crooked grin on his face.

She entered the room and the door behind her closed, with a loud noise, making her jump, the interior of the room was brightly lighted, the white marble floor and walls reflected the sunlight that came through the big windows on her left side on the ground was pillows scattered around the floor, and a man sitting in one, he looked right at her, with a warm smile, his hair was white, in a tanned face, his posture was straight, showing some pride in the age and wisdom that he had acquired through the years. He signaled her to sit in front of him, and she complied.

"Queen Alexa Knight of Zulcan, the first Mated Lycan Couple that escaped the grasp of the Council since its origin! How are you? I assume you have millions of questions for me, and I'll try to answer them to the best of my abilities, but first, I need to apologize to you for the way Flavius conducted itself, and what you had to endure in our cells, but believe me when I say that it was needed." His voice was calm, soothing even, and Alexa felt herself relax, and she believed him.

"I'm fine, thank you for asking. I think the first question I have is why, why did you hunt and murdered Lycan Couples?"

The man smiled at her, "We don't exactly murder them, we try to bring them here, so they can learn their new abilities, and master them so they won't be a menace to other people, as for their child, they are extremely dangerous without control, and many times they often die because they don't have the needed training or control and neither of their parents can teach them that, the offsprings of Lycan Mated Couples are extremely powerful! But I know why you think that way, in the beginning, our Founders were afraid of such combinations and such creatures, and they hunted them down, but we've abolished that ages ago, right around the time that I've begun my training, however, the fear was already installed in the hearts of your and your mate's people that we would go hunt them down, so they resisted and in self-defense, my people ended up killing the Mated Couple, it was unfortunate, and you're the first one that we could salvage without killing your mate."

"What kind of powers will my child have?" Fear crumpled to Alexa's voice as her hands circled her belly.

"Sorry my dear, but that is a question for when your training is more evolved!"

"What kind of training?" Alexa couldn't stop herself.

"You received a gift, from your bond with a vampire, now we have to develop them, it can be anything, from healing magic to construction spells, or battle magic. We have to wait so we can find out what is your gift, then we will begin training that ability!"

"And if I don't have any gifts, as you say?"

"You'll have them, believe me, is part of the Mated Couple, a way to even things out with your Lycan counterpart."

"When does my training end? When can I go back home?"

"The time needed to train you will depend only on yourself, tell me, child, it was Flavius that put the collar on you, right?" He asked, pointing towards the metal collar around Alexa's neck.

"No, he gave it to me, told me I had one choice, put it around my neck or see my friends die!"

For a moment, Alexa felt rage coming from the man in waves, "That stupid demented man!" he cursed.

"What's the problem?" fear clenched around her heart, feeling that something wasn't right.

"That collar can only be removed by the one who locks it, it gives access of others sorcerers to your power, to teach you how to control it, but the person needs to master all its gift to remove it, it's a specific aspect of the gift that can unlock it, and we don't know if you have it, your not our normal student, it wasn't a thing that I would consider doing to a werewolf, but it's already done, and I promise you, once your training is complete, I'll help you out of that collar myself if needed!"

Alexa nodded her head, shocked by his words, "Then when do I started?"

"You'll start in the morning, with some lessons on history, politics, biology, and others, I want you to have a grasp of what do we do here before we start your magic training, I also prefer you'd have your full strength before we start looking for your gift since that is generally a brutal and introspective quest!"

"All right, one more question, while I was under the influence of the potion I've dreamed..." She couldn't finish her sentence.

"It was the possible past if you had refused our offer!" He explained, "since that's all, Flavius it's outside the room waiting to take you to your room, I hope you enjoy your accommodations."

"Yes thank you."
