PETER'S POV:
The scene of my girlfriend Maria kissing another man in front of me at my birthday party was beyond unacceptable and was a moment that I couldn't tolerate.
I felt a wave of shock and anger, and my mind was racing with questions and confusion washed over me. I couldn't believe what I was seeing.
I kept wondering if they had been seeing each other secretly, behind my back.
But how could that be possible? Maria had always been honest and loyal to me. Or was I just naive and blind to the signs?
Maria couldn't have kept such a thing from me, or could she? The act of kissing each other was so intimate that it left me wondering if they had a history together.
As they left the party holding hands together, I couldn't help but feel a pang of jealousy and betrayal. Where were they going? Did they know each other before this? Why did they kiss each other like that in front of everyone? I wondered in thought.
I found myself walking around searching for Maria everywhere, hoping to get some answers. I was curious to know what was going on, and if they were out to finish what they had started.
Finally, I saw Maria standing alone outside, and I immediately went to her to ask what was going on. I was filled with anger and curiosity, and I needed answers. "Where have you been?" I demanded to know. “I spent the rest of the party walking around, searching for you Maria. And where is he?" I asked her; I growled with frustration and jealousy as I confronted her with my questions.
Maria looked at me with a mixture of surprise and annoyance. She stared at me for a few seconds.
"How is it any of your concern? Why do you care if I'm alone here or not?" she asked, her tone defensive. Her response left me feeling even more confused and angry. I couldn't believe that she was trying to dismiss my concerns and act like nothing had happened. But I wasn't going to let her off the hook that easily. I needed to know the truth.
"Where is he?" I asked her again, my voice shaking with anger and hurt. I couldn't believe what had just happened at my birthday party. I needed answers, and I needed them now.
"Did you do it to get back at me or what?" I demanded, my heart pounding in my chest. I couldn't comprehend why she would do something like this to me. I held her tightly as I questioned her again, hoping that she would give me the answers I needed.
But she flipped her hand off me and started walking away. I immediately followed her and held her back. I couldn't let her leave without explaining herself.
She turned around to face me and glanced at me, her eyes filled with emotion. “Can you get your hands off me”, she said and immediately landed a heavy slap on my face. I could see the pain and regret in her eyes, but I couldn't forgive her so easily. I needed to know the truth, no matter how painful it may be.
As I stood there still holding her hand, my heart pounding with fury, I could feel the anger bubbling up inside me. "And what are you going to do now?" She asked as she tried to walk away from me again. Every word felt like a punch to me, and I could feel the anger rolling over me like waves. But I blocked her way.
“Is he your boyfriend now? Maria" My eyes locked onto hers, and my voice shook with emotion as I shouted at her.
Her face turned pale as she looked at me with shock and disbelief. But could see the realisation dawning on her that her actions had consequences beyond her desires. The hurt and pain that I felt were raw and palpable, and I couldn't help but wonder how she could have been so callous as to not think about the impact of her actions.
She looked taken aback for a moment, but then her expression hardened, and she tried to push me.
Then she started laughing out loud, which left me feeling puzzled. I couldn't understand why she was laughing out loud, and I couldn't help but feel a sense of shock and confusion. It seemed as if she was completely unfazed by the news, and her laughter only added to my confusion.
However, Maria's reaction was not what I had expected. She didn't seem surprised or affected in the slightest by my question. Instead, she started laughing out loud at me, leaving me wondering why she was reacting this way. It was as if the question had no impact on her whatsoever.
As I stood there, lost in thought and still trying to process what had just happened,
I heard someone call my name. It was Jerry, my friend, beckoning me to come back to join my birthday celebration. People were asking for my present and were waiting for me to open their gifts and I didn't want to keep them waiting any longer.
With a heavy heart and a lot of questions still on my mind, I turned to leave, trying my best to put on a brave face and join in the festivities, I couldn't help but wonder if Maria would tag along with me or take the exit door. I eagerly anticipated her decision. However, as I witnessed her departing towards the exit door, I felt a surge of frustration and anger brewing inside me. The disappointment of her for my party was palpable, and my emotions were hard to control.
Despite my anger, I knew that I needed to stay calm and composed and find a way to handle the situation with dignity and grace.
