Daegan and Rylan had left earlier, so Kieran and I arrived last. By the time we walked into the estate's grand hall, the place was already full.
Naturally, every pair of eyes turned toward us.
Kieran, ever composed, walked in like he owned the room, completely unfazed by the stares. I wasn't as good at pretending.
I dropped my gaze and instinctively stepped closer to him, half hiding behind his tall frame.
In the crowd to the side, I spotted my mom.
It had been a while since I last saw her—ever since she married Thomas.
She looked... happy, clinging to his arm, her smile glowing with pride and satisfaction.
Kieran stepped up to greet Alpha Gregary, his grandfather, and handed over a gift with a few polite words.
Then he shifted to the side so I was fully visible.
