Lilith’s POV Truthfully, I wasn't even sure I planned to go back anyway. Joining this competition was just a whim for me, a game I could walk away from anytime. But Erin was different. She was genuinely looking forward to the rest of the competition schedule. She needed proper rest. I couldn't let her stay up waiting for me. Yet, a sudden, rebellious streak flared up inside me. I didn't want to just give him the satisfaction. I didn't want him to think I was staying just to obey his desires. Deliberately, I spoke into the phone, keeping my tone as neutral as possible. "Okay, got it." I raised an eyebrow at him, a triumphant smirk playing on my lips. Unexpectedly, Rylan's expression didn't change at all. Then, catching me completely off guard, he suddenly raised his voice.
