I was woken by the sound of a low, murmuring voice.
My eyes struggled to adjust to the bright light, squinting until they focused on Rylan's back.
He stood on the balcony, a simple silk robe tied loosely around his waist, outlining his broad, firm shoulders.
He was speaking into his phone, his voice hushed. I could just make out the cadence of a serious, likely work-related conversation.
Pushing myself up on one elbow, I reached for my phone on the nightstand, but my hand met empty space.
