Bonding

Brie broke out into loud sobs as Alex offered her comfort in his arms. To his utter surprise, his wife was naked. As she curled up against him, her body relaxed in his hold, and in the next second, Alex took her lips. He picked her up, caressing and massaging her skin as she wrapped her legs around him. Her body responded to the stiffness pressing beneath his clothes, and she clung to him, kissing him with all her strengh. Alex placed her gently on the bed, proceeding to nibble her skin with his tongue while caressing her curves. Brie muffled her cries against his shoulder, her body aching for more. Every other thought drifted into silence. Alex laid Briella down fully, covering her with kisses and savoring every inch of her delicate skin. He touched her slowly, patiently, drawing soft gasps from her as she wiggled beneath him. He took his time, coaxing her body to respond, until she finally released beneath his care. He had dreamed of this night for months; and now it was real. In an act of gratitude, Briella pulled Alex down onto the bed. Her fingers tugged at his zipper and, once released, she dropped to her knees, her lips trailing fire and eliciting deep groans from her husband. Alex discarded his shirt, pulling Briella onto his lap. He kissed and worshipped her, aching to be fully inside her. Brie writhed on him, her body ready, and with a single, fluid motion, he entered her. Her scream echoed with thunder, drowning everything else. And together, they explored until dawn. As the sun's rays filtered through the curtains, Alex stirred awake, his arm draped over Briella’s sleeping frame. The night had been unexpected but unforgettable, raw, passionate, and deeply emotional. He carefully slipped out of bed, wanting to avoid any awkwardness. They had to meet his family today. But he didn’t miss the bloodstains on the sheets. Oh, how wrong he had been. She had never been unfaithful. After last night's event, gossip flooded the blogs: “Alex Canne was married ". Brie had gone to great lengths to keep her identity secret, not wanting to attract attention; but now she was in the spotlight thanks to her husband. Whoever was after her, will have access to her, thanks to his stupidity. The ride to the Canne family mansion was a quiet one. Brie pretended to sleep, unable to face her husband. Her skin still bore traces of the previous night, and she was too embarrassed to speak. In a moment of vulnerability, she had bared her soul to her husband; and now there was no turning back. "My parents are celebrating their 30th anniversary, so my entire family will be present," Alex said, watching Brie turn pale. The silence in the car was uncomfortable and he didn't know how to breach the subject. It was awkward enough already. "What? I thought we were just meeting your parents. Now it's the entire family?" The sweat running down her face was a clear sign of her panic. Why didn't he tell her the truth last night? "A few friends might be present too. I never show up to these things, so I can't quite help you," Alex said, handing her tissue paper. "I'm not dressed for an occasion like this," Brie replied, panic clear in her voice as she examined her simple red gown. She hadn't even worn makeup or jewelry. Did he plan to ridicule her in front of his family and peers? "You look good in everything, Briella. Quit worrying about that," Alex said, trying to reassure her but she stiffened and shifted in her seat. Had she not heard compliments before? "I can't attend like this. Maybe you should drop me off somewhere. I can't do this." Brie was close to tears now. Alex understood her fear, but he also knew that if he didn't show up, his parents would announce his engagement. He couldn't let that happen. “Briella,” Alex said, gently taking her hands. “I understand your fear, but today I have to show up. Can you do this for me, please?” She was struck by the sincerity in his voice. His tone was pleading; almost boyish. She glanced at his immaculate tuxedo and then at her own appearance. “We’re headed to the hotel. I arranged a team for you with several options. Pick what you need from there. I won’t leave your side, if that helps.” Brie visibly relaxed as they pulled into the side gate and entered the hotel. An hour later, Briella glided on Alex’s arm into the banquet hall. The crowd parted to admire her. She was a vision, and no one could look away. “Oh sweetheart, you made it this time.” Sydney rushed forward to hug Alex, only for his words to stop her. “Hi Sydney,” Alex replied coldly, holding Briella close like a queen at his side. “After a year of not seeing me, Alex, is that how you greet your fiancée?” “Fiancée?” Alex and Briella said in unison. “My prodigal son finally decided to show up,” Celia chimed in as she hugged Alex. His father stood beside her, quiet and regal. “Hi, Mother. Father,” Alex said with politeness. His relationship with his father had been strained since he refused to marry Sydney. Instead, he’d married Briella. “Now that you're here, this can serve as your engagement party too, seeing as you disappeared a year ago. It's almost your 31st birthday,” Celia said. By now, a crowd was listening to every word. Brie stood frozen. No one acknowledged her. Her husband had a fiancée? Had he brought her here just to mock her? “Mum, Dad, that won't be necessary,” Alex said, his voice calm but commanding. “May I present to you my wife; Briella Canne Hawthorne.” He extended his arm toward Briella, and suddenly, the room was silent.
