Elara and I chattered at the sink after breakfast and I knew she had a lot to talk about with me especially after she was cut short by Lyra the other time.
"Elara," I started, stroking her long brunette hair as her hazel eyes focused on the dishes. "You were saying something about my powers and the King the other time. What was it about?"
"The court isn't a good place according to what I've heard. Especially, for the homines. I used to know a homine friend who once worked there one time. She was killed by Amarantha because Cassius seem to have been intimate with her countless times and she did it to spite him. Although, he didn't know she was behind her death."
