“Avery”, someone is calling my name, I opened my eyes finding myself waking up on a field of flowers with different shades of colors. Wow. Am I still dreaming? This place is amazing, the smell of the flowers, the blowing of the wind off my face, the trees dancing under the moonlight.
I gasped at how big this moon was, and how close it was from where I was sitting, I feel that I can almost touch it. And the lake was reflecting the moon, it was the clearest water I’ve ever seen.
I cleared my throat sensing I was really thirsty, I hurried down to the lake scooping out a lot of water then gulping it down, feeling the freshness of it as I drank it. As I was finished drinking lots of water, I heard someone walking behind me I quickly turned around but no one was there. I brushed aside the fact that I heard footsteps walking stealthily behind me waiting for me to drop my guard, that isn’t possible, this is a freaking dream. No person would just appear then kill me on the spot. I laughed as I was getting up from the ground, when I heard it again. But its not just footsteps walking towards me, it sounded like it was running. Scared to get killed inside my dream I was running to the nearest tree to hide myself. I think I should just climb up to fully hide myself, in case, this really is an animal ready to prey.
I climbed up fast, then cover my mouth to minimize any noise. My hand was shaking at the thought that this unknown man or creature is inside my dream then remembering what Dave and Ben was talking about earlier, I’m not ready to die, not in my dream. This is MY dream for goodness sake!
While waiting for the creature to reach my hiding spot, when I heard the faintest footsteps stopping right below at where I was hiding covering my mouth with my other hand holding on my breath for dear life.
I closed my eyes and pray that it doesn’t find me or smell me, or even better climb up here to kill me. Oh god, I’m not ready. It circled around the tree, starts sniffing then growls, what the heck?
I gather my courage then looking down to see what creature is down there peeking through the leaves and branches brushing it out off the way, then there it was, I saw the blackest shade of black with a pair of the deepest mixed of blue and green eyes, I was drawn to this wolf, like its soul was calling my own. This creature was a werewolf, I remember with my lessons with Ben that wolves are dangerous animals, but werewolves are far more dangerous than them. I think this werewolf is bigger and have more outstanding features than what I have seen or read in books.
Before I knew it, I started to climb down, branch to branch, then landing on my feet on the ground. Great. Now you’re getting yourself killed, have fun screaming Avery. I gaped my mouth open, shocked that it was definitely bigger than I imagined it would be when I was up there.
This werewolf is so so much bigger, then its eyes, oh, I could get lost in those eyes. The wolf stepped its front paws then sniff the air and it starts to bark like a dog, wagging its tail like meeting his long lost owner.
Oh, I can keep you as a pet that I’m sure. He jumps then circled around me sticking out its tongue licking my face, I giggled at his reaction, oh Ben is so wrong about these lovely creatures.
They are not dangerous at all, they are lovable. It tilts its snout upward howling, and its the most beautiful howl I’ve ever heard. It sounds as if this werewolf was telling the world something. I reached out to him patting his furry head, the wolf approaches my hand letting me pat his head, come to think of it? I don’t know if its really a boy, let’s just say its a boy.
I smiled at him, making silly sounds while I’m scratching behind his ear he rolled on his back telling me to rub his belly. I laughed at his goofy ass, sitting down beside him while rubbing his soft belly. I don’t know how many hours I’ve spent inside the dream, but this moment is the happiest feeling I’ve felt for a long time. Its like this wolf feels what I’m feeling right now, understands me. I shrugged off the thought, No, that cannot happen, they’re animals as far as I know they don’t understand human feelings, and this one is a werewolf they’re not capable of doing that. But, they’re also part human too. Oh, god. If this really a werewolf then he can shift.
However, knowing its only in my dream and this is not truly possible, not in a million years I got saddened thinking of it, the werewolf begins to lick my face like he’s cheering me up. I warmly smiled then kissed his forehead thanking him for his gentle and kind nature he’s showing to me. If this dream is not a dream, cause’ obviously a dream is not normally this long. I want to know his name, then maybe, asks him him why he was in a trance dream too like me. I sighed gathering my guts to ask no one would ask,
“My name is Avery, what is yours little wolf?”, I smiled expecting that he would tell me, it was no joke that I was excited that I would see his human form, yeah, I’m no innocent knowing about these creatures, I know about them, like a lot.
Waiting for him to change, standing on four legs, his werewolf form is changing back to a human, no long snout, those fuzzy ears, the fluffy tail,
I giggled remembering the soft feeling when I was touching his tail earlier. When his body reached its final form of a human, I started to feel a little drowsy, fighting my eyes to open them,
Then suddenly I felt two arms embracing me, caressing my cheeks, oh, those hands holds me like a lullaby. I smiled at him reaching out to touch his face leaning towards where his hands is.
I was really fighting hard to close my eyes, but my heavy eyelids was really putting a weigh on me but before I gave in, he leaned in to my ear close enough to hear what he’s going to say,
“Lost….M..” He softly whispered, in one last remaining urge to fight my sleepiness,
I notice that he was smiling down at me.
I fell in love with those precious smile like I fell in love with my mama’s eyes. I closed my eyes while he whispers more words that I cannot understand anymore. Then finally losing my consciousness I blacked out.
