Ava.
She is constantly on my mind as my paws pound the forest floor and I absently dodge through the giant tree trunks.
I desperately want to reach out to her, just to hear her voice in my head again.
But I need to concentrate. I need to be focused for battle.
I skid to a stop and sniff the air again.
It is difficult to track Lycans, they cover their scent well and they have the same enhanced hearing as we do.
They can also move as silently as us, so we have got to be on constant alert.
Darius comes to a halt beside me and glances over at me.
“If they came this way, they have covered their tracks well.”
I silently agree with him.
“It seems most likely that they passed into the Southern Territory.”
