ALEX’S POV- I leave the house at precisely 8:03. Routine has always been important to me. Routine means control. Predictability. Stability. For years, my mornings have looked exactly the same. Coffee. Review the day’s agenda. Drive to work. More coffee. Simple. Lately, however, there’s been an additional thought woven into that routine. Evie. More specifically, whether she’ll be in the staff room when I arrive. The realisation is irritating. I ignore it. The drive to Wolfe Publishing is uneventful.
