Chapter Seventeen EVIE’S POV Friday. Thank God. If this week had been any longer, I might have actually combusted. I pulled into Wolfe Publishing’s underground car park at eight twenty-three and sat in my car for a moment longer than necessary, staring through the windscreen while the engine ticked quietly beneath me. My head hurt. My eyes burned. Two hours of sleep was not enough for any functioning human being, especially not after a panic attack. Especially not after whatever yesterday had been.
