Chapter Six

879 Words
As Lilith and Kacia excitedly boarded the plane, Satan followed suit, his mood noticeably sour. While the girls were thrilled with the prospect of flying first class, Satan couldn't help but feel a sense of disappointment at the downgrade from their usual mode of transportation, the family jet. As Lilith and Kacia stepped onto the plane, they were bubbling with excitement. Their laughter echoed in the cabin as they made their way to their seats in first class. "Wow, this is pretty nice," Lilith remarked, a grin spreading across her face. Kacia nodded enthusiastically. "I've never been in first class before. It feels like we're living a normal college life!" Their conversation continued as they settled into their seats, taking in the lavish surroundings. While both girls had experienced more opulent settings before, the novelty of flying first class was not lost on them. Despite Lilith's accustomed high standards, she couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement about this new and somewhat normal experience. As they nestled into their seats, the gentle hum of the aircraft wrapped around them like a comforting blanket, contrasting with the lively atmosphere between the two friends. Lilith let out a contented sigh as she leaned back, savoring the luxurious comfort of first class. Meanwhile, as Satan settled into his seat, a subtle air of reluctance surrounded him. Despite the luxurious surroundings of first class, which would have impressed most, he couldn't shake off his dissatisfaction. His usual confidence and poise gave way to a faint scowl as he begrudgingly adapted to the unfamiliar environment. As Kacia leaned in, her eyes alight with excitement, Lilith couldn't help but feel her friend's contagious enthusiasm. "Maybe you'll finally get laid on this trip!" Kacia exclaimed with a grin, her optimism infectious. However, Kacia's excitement dimmed slightly as she gestured towards Satan, seated a couple of rows behind them. "It just sucks we're stuck with him," she muttered under her breath, a hint of annoyance creeping into her voice. Lilith rolled her eyes at Kacia's comment, shaking her head with a smirk. "I highly doubt that," she retorted. Romance was never really her thing. "Let's just be grateful it's only one brother tagging along and not a whole army of guards," she added, giggling at the thought. Lilith eagerly pulled out her iPad as soon as the seatbelt light turned off, launching Netflix to peruse the movie options. "What are we in the mood for, Kace?" she asked, her excitement palpable. "We've still got four hours till touchdown, and it's barely noon." Kacia, her blonde curls bouncing with her shrug, replied with a grin, "Anything that'll keep us entertained for the next four hours." With a sense of sympathy for her brother, Lilith turned towards him after selecting a movie. "Order a drink and relax, you look like a grumpy businessman glued to his phone. Not a good look," she teased. As they gathered their pillows and blankets, settling into their seats, Lilith and Kacia eagerly anticipated the movie. Lilith plugged in her left AirPod while Kacia inserted the right one, relishing the novelty of experiencing something they'd only seen in movies before. "We could've just taken the jet. This isn't comfortable at all," Satan grumbled bitterly. Lilith and Kacia exchanged eye rolls, any sympathy Lilith felt for him fading as the movie began. With that, they delved into their movie marathon, losing themselves in a whirlwind of action, romance, and comedy. As the hours passed by in a blur of laughter and excitement, they hardly noticed the time slipping away. Meanwhile, seated a few rows behind them, Satan reclined in his seat with a book in hand, his brow furrowed in concentration. Despite the cheerful atmosphere around him, he remained absorbed in his reading, his mind consumed by thoughts of the task that lay ahead. At the two-hour mark of the flight, a flight attendant glided gracefully through the narrow aisles, warmly greeting each passenger and offering a selection of beverages. The gentle hum of the plane filled the air, creating a serene atmosphere. Lilith and Kacia's attention was drawn to the tantalizing smell of coffee and pastries as the cart approached. They patiently waited their turn while the attendant served other passengers. Meanwhile, Satan grew impatient, unused to waiting for service on public flights as he was accustomed to immediate attention on the family jet. Considering starting her journey with a mimosa, Lilith watched as the attendant approached. However, remembering their plans for later at the club, she opted for a ginger ale instead. "One ginger ale, please," she requested politely. "Of course," the flight attendant replied, exuding professionalism as she deftly navigated the moving plane and poured Lilith's drink into a plastic cup without spilling a drop. "Thank you," Lilith expressed her appreciation as the attendant moved on to serve other passengers. As another cart reached Kacia's side, another flight attendant stopped at their seats with lunch options. "For lunch, we have a choice of a turkey sandwich or a veggie wrap today," she announced with a smile. "I'll have a veggie wrap, please," Kacia requested. "I'll have a turkey sandwich," Lilith decided. She glanced at her brother, noticing he already had a drink in hand and appeared displeased with the food options.
