Chapter Nine

*** Jessamine's POV ***
I can feel Levi behind me as we run back to the packhouse. The taste of his lips and the feeling of his hardness pressing against me made my wolf want to howl. The mate bond made me desire him so much and it scared me. It made me mad that my body was betraying my mind. I run-up to the packhouse and shift into my human form as I reach the door. Levi growls disliking that I am naked in public, but I don't care. My whole pack has seen me naked, just like I have seen my whole pack naked.
Levi shifts into his human forms and runs to me. His eyes were glowering with anger. "Jessamine!" He growled as he went to shield my body.
"There is no one around Alpha, and even so, we are werewolves, being naked is normal," I shrugged as I opened the door and began to make my way upstairs to my bedroom. Levi was trailing after me like a lost puppy.
"Why are you calling me Alpha? My name is Levi," he grumbled. I ignored his question and kept walking. "Well?" he asked.
"Because you are an Alpha," I answered plainly. I reached my door and went inside my room and left it open knowing that Levi would just knock it down if I tried to lock him out. He followed me in and stood looking around my room and breathing deeply inhaling my scent. Finally, his eyes landed on my body and I saw the hunger and lust he had in them. I tossed my hair and broke eye contact as I went into my closet to find a nice dress.
"I am an Alpha but I am also your mate," I heard him respond from my room. I found a black floor-length satin dress that hugged my curves perfectly. It had a deep V neckline in the front and the back of the dress. The V in the front reached just above my belly button and the V in the back rested right above my tail bone. It was very sexy and suggestive and I quietly smirked knowing that it would drive Levi crazy. I grabbed a pair of black high heels and walked out of the closet as I flipped my hair over my shoulder.
Levi was sitting on my bed and looked up as I walked out. His dark blue eyes instantly turned black and his jaw tensed. "Like what you see Alpha?" I teased as I started walking out of my room. Levi stood up abruptly and ran to block the doorway.
"You are not going dressed like that," He said in a low voice. His whole body was tensed and I could tell it was taking him a lot of control to stay calm. I grabbed his chin softly and he looked shocked by the endearing gesture. I turned his face down so he was looking directly into my eyes.
"I am going dressed however I want. You do not control me," I smiled sweetly as I let go of his chin and push past him as I walked out the door. I heard him growl softly behind me but he didn't say anything else as he followed me down back to the ball.
As we were about to enter the ballroom, Levi grasped my hand in his and I almost gasped at the sparks I felt in my fingertips. We opened the door and everyone's eyes were on us. I pasted a smile on my face as I walked in. "Hello everyone." I greeted as we began to make our way to the head table.
When we made it to the front of the room I turned around to address my pack and all the visiting packs. "As you may have realized, Levi Odin, Alpha of the Odin pack is my fated mate. We have accepted each other as our mates. I hope that everyone enjoys the rest of tonight. Alpha Levi and I have a lot to talk through and plan so we will be excusing ourselves." I smiled at the werewolves before me. Some looked so happy for me, some looked jealous and some looked sad. Levi pulled me close to him as we began to leave the ballroom.
As he pulled me I looked back briefly and made eye contact with Cal. His usual happy eyes were clouded by sadness. My heart hurt seeing the pain there and I wanted to run to my best friend and hold him close. Levi looked down at me and saw who I was looking at and growled lowly. He didn't say anything though which I appreciated.
"Well, I supposed we can go to my office and figure out the details," I said softly as we made it into the hallway. I gently pulled myself out of Levi's arms and felt suddenly cold at the absence of his touch. That thought made me roll my eyes. Levi went to grasp my hand again but I quickly stepped out of reach and continued to walk briskly to my office. Levi sighed and followed behind me.
We made it to my office and we walked in quietly. I closed the door behind us and went to sit by my desk. I could tell Levi wanted to sit close to me but he sat in the chair across from my desk.
"I am my father's only heir, I am supposed to take over as Alpha of this pack," I stated. "I am a born Alpha, an Alpha at heart. I am not a Luna."
"I can feel that in your aura Jessamine," Levi admitted. He ran his hands through his curly hair and for a split second I wished that I could run my hands through his hair. "I would never undermine your authority." He said and I felt a bit relieved.
"If we go through as mates then we will need to merge our packs. How do you figure we should go about doing that?" I questioned.
"Simple, we take all the territory from my pack to your pack and merge it into one. We can have our packhouse right in the center of our territory and we can change the pack name to one we agree on." Levi said as though it was an obvious and simple solution.
"That means that we would have to absorb all the packs in between, and they probably wouldn't want to be absorbed." If we could take all the packs then it actually would be a great plan.
"There are only two packs between us, and they aren't strong packs. I am sure we could figure it out." Levi was grinning, I could tell he was really liking his plan. Honestly, it wasn't a horrible plan, but I wasn't about to admit that to him.
"And the pack name?" I asked. Levi just leaned back looking pleased.
"Odin Lune Pack."
I laughed and rolled my eyes. It was an obvious choice but I liked it. "Okay fine, I guess I should have assumed that." Levi looked happy that I was laughing and that sobered me up. I didn't want to give him the pleasure.
"So, for the most part, we have things figured out..." Levi trailed off. "Does that mean we can take a break from this planning and just get to know each other?"
I was shocked that this big bad Alpha just wanted to talk. I glanced at him curiously and wondered if maybe I could bond with this man.
