I awoke to find the house empty. I felt a stab of betrayal through my heart. How could she leave without letting me know? How could she hurt me like this? My thoughts began to run, but one thing stayed consistent. Love. Dammit, I already loved her. How is this possible? I wanted her more than anything I've ever wanted in my undead life. Why am I falling down the one wormhole, I swore I wouldn't? Something glittery, and light blue, dropped to the floor. I wiped my face, realizing the blue liquid was tears. I got a washcloth to wipe the tear off of the floor. When I turned back around, there was a hole where the tear was, as if acid had hit the hardwood.
"Crap," I sighed. "Now, I have to get the floor replaced. Wonderful," I grumbled. I heard a rustling sound outside of my kitchen window. I looked out to see the same shock of blonde hair, I was beginning to get familiar with. I opened the window. "What are you doing?" I shouted.
"I-uh-well...I was trying to leave, but I don't know my way around here. So, I thought I'd come back." She twiddled her thumbs together.
"I'm not going to keep you prisoner. I just wanted you to get a goodnight's rest. If you want to leave, I will take you home. Would you agree to that?"
"Actually, that'd be nice. Thank you." Her cheeks turned a bright pink.
"Why are you blushing? Did I say something wrong? Did I do something wrong?" I felt my eyes grow wide. I was thoroughly confused.
"No, the opposite, actually. You said everything right. I-I-" she stuttered, "I-um, nevermind." Her gaze darted to the ground.
I gently tilted her chin up, so she was looking at me. "You, what? Finish your sentence please." I was hoping I wasn't reading the situation wrong.
"I like you, Tessa. It's weird to say becuse we haven't known each other long, but I want to get to know you better." She sighed.
"I like you, as well. I have a question for you. Would you like to go on a date?" I looked at her face, studying it. I hoped, but didn't expect, her answer to be yes.
"I'd like that." She stood up straight. "Can you help me get to my house? I have no clue where I'm going."
"I've got a car in the garage, we can use that." I took her through the house to the garage.
"Oh. My. God. Is that '63 Chevy Corvette? They're so rare. How did you manage to get one?" Her eyes were wide, her mouth in a big O.
"It is a family heirloom," I lied. "She's a beauty. She runs like it's nothing." I tapped her hood lightly. "I'm happy you know your cars. Ready to go?" I smirked to myself. Gina was running her hand upthe side of the car. Gently, as if it were a delicate piece of china, she opened the passenger door.
"Let's go. I wanna see how smoothly this baby runs." She buckled herself in, looking giddy. I hopped in and laid my right arm on the center console. I opened the garage, and took off into the woods. Gina laughed and screamed with excitement. "This is amazing!" I smiled at seeing her smile. I hadn't seen her smile before. It was beautiful. She grabbed my hand. Unintentionally, evident by the reddening of her cheeks afterwards.
I slowly pressed the brake. We stopped somewhere in the middle of the woods. We stared into each other's eyes. I began to lean in. As if pulled by a magnet, Gina moved in too. I could feel the heat from her body soaking into my cold skin. Our lips connected, moving of their own transgression. I bit into her lip, savoring the tang of blood. Blood. Oh, no.
"Ouch," Gina put her hand to her lip. "That hurt a little bit. Umm... would you think I was weird if I asked you to do it again?" I stared at her, utterly confused.
"You're bleeding, G. I'm not going to make you bleed again." Granted, her blood tasted more exceptional than normal.
"Oh. My. God. What the hell is going on?" I realized the smell of blood had dissipated, and was replaced with the smell of magic. Oh. s**t.
