My head was pounding. I groaned as I turned in the soft bed and tries to raise it. "f**k!" I growled as the pain grew intensity behind my eyes. "Won't now! You must lay back down. You have a concussion. M" A woman's voice assures me. "I'll give you something for the pain," she told me as I tried to pry my eyes open but as soon as the light hit them it was as if someone was stabbing me through the eyes. I shut them tightly and laid back down. I felt a cold swab wipe my arm just before a pinch. I flinched as I felt the liquid flowing in my body. A euphoric feeling came over me. The pain in my head eased and it pulled me back into the darkness where my nightmares awaited.
..................
I could hear voices. I felt they were close but they seemed to echo. I couldn't make out what they were saying. Though they sounded angry. Who were they and were they angry at me? I tried to open my eyes but they wouldn't budge. My body and my head ached badly. I didn't complain as the darkness pulled me under.
I felt tingles as strong arms held me against a warm chest. Whoever this was felt like they could be their heat source. Their presence calmed my aching body. I snuggled my face into their body and let the darkness take me once more.
----------------------
I felt a cold rag on my head as fingers ran through my hair. A hard body lay next to me and I snuggled into the warmth of their arms drifting back into a peaceful sleep.
----------------------
I woke up, my body sore and achy. How long had I been asleep and where was I? That's when everything came flooding back. Parker and the standoff with my mates, Sumba, the hell hounds!
I bolted up and surveyed my surroundings. It took a moment for my eyes to adjust and my mouth felt like I had been eating cotton it was so dry. When my vision finally cleared I saw that I was in a fairly large bedroom.
There was a fireplace and a sitting area with a bookshelf. There was a flat screen tv mounted in the corner of the room. The room was painted a light gray aside from the wall behind me that was stone, the same as the fireplace. There are two windows and 4 doors.
I suspected at least one of the doors was a closet. I slowly climbed out of bed trying to be as quiet as possible. I stood and immediately fell back to the bed. My legs were weak and shaking. Finally, after several tries, I was able to stand. Slowly, I walked to the door beside the bed. It was a huge bathroom. There was a large square jacuzzi tub that resembled a hot tub more than a bathtub. There was a walk-in shower but I didn't see any shower head which I thought odd. There is a button instead of a knob, and it looked like ten people could fit inside it. There were 4 sinks and then hidden behind two doors were two toilets. A third door revealed a linen closet full of towels, wash clothes, and hygiene products.
The fact that every shampoo, conditioner, lotion, body spray, perfume, and even hair product was my favorite didn't escape me. A large rolling stand contained tons of my favorite makeup products, all in my shade and there was a jewelry box full of dainty white gold jewelry. I was allergic to regular gold and never was able to wear it, and I loved silver but it broke me out so I had always opted for white gold the very few times my parents had got me jewelry.
I left the bathroom and made my way to the door next to it which turned out to be a walk-in closet that was the size of a small. bedroom. It was filled with clothes, and through my investigation,n I found that the clothes were my size. Jeans, t-shirts, underwear, bras, and nightgowns, filled the drawers, and formal, evening and casual wear hung from the racks along with purses, satchels, and bags of various sizes and colors. All designers still had the tags. the. Shoes on the shoe racks were still in the box. Boots, tennis shoes, sandals, heels, everything a girl could ever want and everything was my size. Maybe I could borrow a couple of items to shower. I wondered if they would mind if I took them. These couldn't be mine no matter how coincidental, they wouldn't do this for me, would they?
Finally, dragging myself from the closet I tried the next two doors. They were locked meaning I was locked inside this room.
Pecking on the window caught my attention. I shakily walked to the window and threw back the curtains. "Blip!" I gasped when I saw my Phoenix flying outside the window asking to be let in. I ran over and pulled up the window but bars blocking the exit kept him from getting in. "Blip out and come in!" I told Blip and he craned his neck as usual when trying to understand me. Suddenly he flashes away leaving a puff of smoke behind and the sound of flapping wings sounded behind me.
I turned around and Blip flew at me. He had grown so much. He rubbed his head against my neck and wrapped his wings around me like a hug. "Hey, buddy. I missed you too. I'm so glad your here." I told him. "I don't know how you found me. When I was taken I was so scared you were hurt or worse, dead.
After minutes of hugging and scratching Blip, I sat him on the footboard of the bed and I looked out the window. Most of my surroundings look like a sea of trees laid out all around me. So much for escaping. I looked to the sides of me and could tell I was in some kind of castle or close to it, As it was a huge stone building with towers.
I appeared to be either on the top floor or close to it. Below me was a field filled with what look like young soldiers. It appeared they were training with magic. Though I couldn't tell much from this far away. A man was standing in front of them who seemed to be instructing their movements. I jumped back inside the window when I saw him crane his head back and look straight at me.
I searched everything in the room to find something to protect myself but only found extra blankets for the largest bed I'd ever seen in my life. I sat on the bed and accepted defeat. I had no clue why someone would need a bed as large as the one in this room. It appeared to be 2 California kings pushed together. I tried to feel for my magic but felt absolutely nothing. I still could use my elemental gifts even trying what Sumba had shown me. Maybe I was too anxious. It was as if I was human and I hated it. Whereas Sumba and what had they done to her and the others? I could only hope Sumba was okay, I didn't care much about Silva and Parker, only because I knew it would hurt Sumba is why I didn't wish they were dead. How would I defend myself against my mates if they attacked me? How was I going to survive this torture?
