Breakfast Served With Care

Elaine had been there for a small while now maybe a week, accepting the food, warmth and safety they provided. Althought rarely leaving her bed. She got to know the three men better, getting used to the boys constant playful arguing and friendly rivalry. They were best friends but treated each other more like brothers. Whilst she rested in bed they had regularly brought medicine, food and entertainment into her small tent. "I bought you some more bandages, and breakfast. How's your wound feeling?" A calm voice broke through her sleepy haze. The deep wound to her left side had shown little sign of healing. The bleeding had stopped but a pussie liquid was now soaking through her bandages regularly and needed clean ones to replace them. Elaine slowly sat up as Lucian placed a roll of bandages, a small round metal container and a bowl of last nights heated up leftovers next to her. "Sore, and thankyou for breakfast" Lucian sat quietly watching as she quickly ate up the small bowl of food in front of her. After she had finished he gently took the bowl from her lap and stood to leave. He turned back quickly when Elaine let out a small whimper as she reach toward the bandages. Placing the bowl on the floor he reached forward, his firm, warm hand gently gripped her fore arm preventing her from reaching further. "Stop, let me help you." Elaine sat straight again as he picked up the bandages and the container then sat on the edge of the bed. "Vince thought the salve may help reduce the infection" Lucian mentioned as he twist the metal container open. His hand extended towards her shirt as his eyes meet hers checking she was comfortable with what he was doing. His gaze returned to her abdomen where he set to work, his hands gently and nimbly rid her of the old bandages and applied the salve. "Sorry" he mumbled as he noticed the creases forming over her eyebrows as the salve stung at her open wound. Elaine watched as he finished wrapping the bandages around her. His gentle blue eyes focused on the task with care and concentration. His shoulders relaxed as he leaned back taking the warmth from his closeness with him. They sat there in the quiet for a while staring at each other, this was the first time she had felt truly comfortable being alone with another person for years. A small smile creeping its way onto her freckled face. "Hey Elaine! Does your dragon eat? Can i feed her? If I do will she... oh. Im sorry, your obviously busy with blondy. Well, when your done maybe you should find me for a real experience." Darren chuckled and gave a quick wink as he spun on his heel and left just as suddenly as he arrived. "Ugh Darren! I just helped with the bandages thats all!" "Ow, no need to shout. I have sensitive ears you know. But he's right, I need to go and check on Serrena." a grimace showed on Elaines face as she moved to stand up. "Let me help you" "Thankyou but i can do it. Its not difficult" "It might not be difficult, but your wound isn't healing and I want to be there. Besides it will make Darren jealous." He smirked as enjoyed the thought of making Darren jealous. "Fine, but wait outside whilst i get dressed" After Lucian left, Elaine struggled and winced through putting her armour on as it was the only clothes she had bought with her that went over the clothes she was already wearing. The thick light brown leather material of her trousers shaped her already toned legs and curvy hips. Her black leather skirt that only really looked as if it was decoration actually worked alot like a belt, holding up her trousers and usful to attach blades too. A pair of matching black boots came up to her knees and finished into neatly stitched points that mimicked the small spikes on Serrena's tail. The mixture of black and light brown leather hugged her torso and arms. Small intricate swirls of bronze metal highlighted her armour as it rounded the top of her breasts and dipped down to her navel finishing in a small diamond like star. All her armour now had rips and tears that she would need to fix herself as she didn't thing there would be somewhere in the frozen lands where she could get it done for her. Elaine nodded her head agreeing with herself that she looked more badass with the tears in her clothes and armour. With that thought she pulled the leather bag over her head onto her shoulder before wrapping the thick furred cloak around her shoulders. Looking like a warrior heading into battle in frost bitten wastelands she pushed through the flap of the tent. Instantly shivering she wrapped the cloak tighter around her curvy figure, the cold air made its way through the tears in her clothes and chilled her. "I though dragon riders never got cold, their dragon blood keeping them warm and all that" Darren had obviously waited outside after his cheeky insinuation, predicting that they would follow after him. "I don't and it does" shrugging of the comment Elaine strode forward but Darren's comment had got her thinking. She never used to get cold, so why was she now? She had lost alot of blood but by now she would have reproduced that amount. The thought vanished as she narrowed the corner and her magnificent beast came into view. "Hey beautiful, how are you feeling today?" "I'm fine thanks darling how are you?" Darren held a cheeky grin like a little kid who had stolen the last biscuit. "Ugh, Darren you i***t, she was obviously talking to her dragon" "Well it definitely wasn't you was it Lucie" the pair kept bickering back and forth to one another as Elaine kept walking towards her dragon. She started to enjoy the guys company their constant teasing and friendship helped her feel more at home than before. Blocking out the chatter she continued to walk towards Serrena, she could feel her dragons excitement, she wanted to fly. Not wanting to disappoint her dragon and wanting to show off just a little to Darren and Lucian. Elaine came up to the shoulder of her dragon and started to climb up and into her saddle. "Hey! Don't go leaving us now, you wouldn't survive the night without us to protect you!" Both Darren and Lucian slowly started walking towards Elaine and Serrena. "Elaine, your wound hasn't healed enough for this, it's gotten worse if anything. Please don't cause yourself more damage." Lucian could not help but be concerned, her wound was infected and yet she was still planning on flying. "Don't worry. Serrena just wants to stretch her wings. I'll be back soon, someone has to stop you two girls from boring Vince to death with your endless arguing" with that Serrena spread her wings and pushed off the ground. The movement making Elaine wince. Serrena rose into the air then eventually levelled out and started to glide enjoying the calm winds and danger free skies.
