Sophie's POV Disturbing his peace. That was what he called it. I had just caught him cheating on me, with not just one woman, but three and he dared to call it disturbing his peace. “Reid…” I managed to force out, my voice cracking as disbelief tangled with the ache spreading in my chest. Something dark and suffocating swirled at the back of my mind, something I couldn’t even name. “We’ve been together for years, Reid. We’ve conquered so many obstacles in front of our relationship. We even have a future together, one we’ve been planning. How… why….” The words spilled out in a broken mess. I still couldn’t believe he was the person lying there in such a scene, in such a shameful and questionable position. I expected him to jump out of the bed, scramble for his clothes and rush to me the way boyfriends usually do when they’re caught cheating. They run after their girlfriends, begging, apologizing and grasping at anything to seek forgiveness. Even if what they did could barely be called a mistake. But Reid had been sucking a strange woman’s p***y moments ago. She had sat on his face. He had let her while the other two sucked him off like they owned him. That couldn’t be a mistake. There was nothing accidental about what he’d been doing but he still didn't feel remorseful about it. Every movement and thrust of his tongue, every moan he gave them was clear-headed and intentional. “Ohh, he seems to have a girl who isn’t down with us giving him a good time,” one of the ladies mocked as she slurped his precum from the head of his c**k. Reid arched his back under her mouth, even with me still standing there. He didn’t tell her to stop nor respect mt presence. He didn’t even acknowledge me. His pleasure, just like always, was all that mattered. That was how he was even with me whenever we had s*x. Whenever he just penetrated and f****d me without considering foreplay, without ever thinking about whether I was even wet or ready. “Why, is she a crybaby?” another chimed in. “She could join us. I’ve been a stripper for half a decade now. Baby, my skills will make you squirt all over this bed,” one of them boasted with pride. “Clearly she must be the boring girlfriend he mentioned to us. The one who’s always dry on the bed with her subpar skills.” “Sweetie, you could join us. An orgy wouldn’t be bad. Who knows, you might learn one or two things from us on how to spice up your relationship.” I swallowed hard against the bile rising in my throat as their voices scratched at my ears. Their insults didn’t matter. Their presence didn’t matter. Only Reid mattered. Only the explanation he owed me. “Why?” I asked again, looking straight into his eyes. He had never complained to me about our s*x life. He had never said our relationship lacked spice. Up until this morning, he promised to mate with me. He reassured me of his love, told me how he couldn’t live without me, how I was the only one for him. “We’ve dated for—” “Come on, Sophie…” He cut me off sharply and dismissively. I fell silent, waiting for his explanation. “You should be grateful I took you in and showed you flickers of affection all those years, Sophie.” “What would you mean by that?" I asked as I left the door knob, disbelief forcing my steps closer into the room, even though every instinct begged me to walk away instead. He let out a chuckle. A deep, mocking laughter that rattled through my bones, one that seemed to echo in the room and crawl under my skin. I didn’t know why he was laughing in such a manner, or why he would laugh at me at a moment like this. “Did you honestly believe that I would be in love with someone like you or even date you?” he paused and stared at me, pure disdain written all over his face. His eyes held not a flicker of guilt, only amusement. “Reid, what do you mean?” I raised my voice, confusion and hurt twisting inside of me. He scoffed. “You were a charity case I was only interested in because of your body. I've never loved you, nor will I ever do.” The room spun. I shook my head at his words, refusing to accept them. He couldn’t be telling the truth, could he? Reid had always loved me or at least, he had acted like it. Anyone who got close to us would have practically noticed it. Was he saying all these just to appear powerful before these ladies? To prove something? To humiliate me to boost his ego? I couldn’t tell which one it was. But he didn’t look drunk. He seemed to be saying everything with a clear mind, meaning every word coming out of his mouth. “You're only but a wolfless omega, Sophie…” he continued, voice dripping with arrogance. “I tolerated you all these while because you're the charity case from the academy whose body had seemingly pleased me enough for me to desire you other times. Don't overestimate your worth. If I wanted tens of you, I would have tens of you. It's that easy." He boasted and I stood motionless and bewildered as I watched someone I thought I knew, someone I thought I loved and loved me back, unravel into a stranger before my eyes. “Does she still have anything to say?” one of the ladies asked, turning to Reid with a grin. “Will she be joining us?” she added, almost mockingly. Reid said nothing. Instead, he stretched his hand out to her right in front of me. She smiled and climbed on top of him, guiding his c**k that was now rock hard from her previous ministration. Slowly, she positioned herself and guided it into her slick p***y. It slid in with a pop and both of them gasped at the contact, as if I wasn’t still standing there. I swallowed the humiliation burning in my throat. And when I found myself unable to keep staring at them while my heart broke in real time, I finally turned toward the door to leave. Three years. Three years I had sacrificed a lot for Reid. My time, my affection, my principles I compromised for him. I had given all these hoping that once his dreams, which I helped him achieve loyally and silently through the shadows came to pass, we would become mates and have our own family. Walking away, I couldn’t tell whether I was just unlucky or cursed in life. Wolfless, mateless and now being discarded like something worthless. Something that never mattered. Something that never should have hoped.
