"I'm not an object to be shared!" I protested, glaring between Vladimir and Lev. "Voldy, you should put her in her place," the bulldog said, pretending to be gentle. "She talks way too much." I tried to get off Vladimir's lap, but he wouldn't let me, pushing me back down. My heart thumped like a frightened bird in my chest. "Of course," Vladimir promised him. "Then I suggest we sign the papers first, and then move on to the entertainment." I heard those words, and my head spun.
