It turned out that Ben, Kade and Ellie had the corrupt souls removed already. I was more that happy to hear that. "Ixora, could I speak to you privately please?" Ursis whispered in my ear. I gave a slight nod and headed to my office. I had made sure that it was sound proof so that no one heard anything coming from inside this room. I sat on my desk. This was something I had gotten in the habit of doing when I was around Ursis. He didn't like it when I sat too far away from him. I looked at him and waited patiently for him to speak. "You know I don't trust them, right?"
I know. Onyx doesn't either. He's been on guard this whole time. However, those ladies weren't lying about the corrupt souls. They pulled one out or Nikki. They warned me about your Aunt Helena."
He growled low in his throat. "That woman is not my family."
"Alright." I paused and pulled him between my legs. I wouldn't lie and say that I wasn't neglecting his s****l needs, because I was. I didn't was to land pregnant before ending this war with Helena. "She's not your Aunt. However, she is a threat to our family. I can't just push everyone away that is willing to help us. Besides, there are many witches out there that are against Helena. I plan on having them pledge themselves to me and fight with us. We have to trust them, just like they have to trust us."
Ursis sighed and pulled me closer to him. "Alright, but we have to do this together. We are mates and mates do everything together."
"Yes, my king. I have already thought out a plan in my head." I smiled at him. He raised an eyebrow at me. I giggled and explained my plan to him.
Later that night, everyone say in the kitchen for dinner. Nikki was bouncing off the walls. She told me that she felt really light and that she was still a Beast. She and Ellie also got into some junk food before dinner. I wouldn't like and say that I didn't find it funny, because I did that a lot too when I was younger. Mom would get mad, but I could still see the smile dancing in her eyes. As long as they brushed their teeth and still ate their proper meals, I wouldn't care. That's how Dad wanted Mom to raise me. "Mom-- I mean-- Uhh--"
I smiled at Ben. "You can call me Mom. I will and forever will be your Mother. I meant it when I said I wanted you four."
"Okay-- Umm-- Mom, do you think we could go for a run after dinner? The six of us I mean." Ben had a light blush on his cheeks. Kade tried to keep emotion from his face, but I could see the hope in his eyes still. Ellie and Nikki on the other hand, and wide smiles and were staring at me with such hope that I couldn't say no to them.
"I'm in for it." I smiled and looked at Ursis. "Are you?" He nodded with a soft smile playing on his lips. Oh those delicious lips. I mentally shook my head. "Alright, it is settled. We go for a run after dinner. However," I paused, looking at my children. "You must eat all of your dinner. Being in your Beast forms takes a lot out of you. Even more so when the only safe place for us to run is the mountain behind the house."
They nodded and devoured their dinners, plus seconds. After Ursis and I finished, we headed out the back door. "Alright everyone, all eyes and ears on me please." I waited for them to give me their full attention. "The sun will be down in an hour. You can go anywhere on this mountain during the sun hours. After sundown, you have to stick close to me or your Father. Let one of us know if you begin to get tired. I only ask that this rule to always be followed. I have no intentions on losing any of you after only having you for a few days."
Ursis stepped forward. "Your Mother has a very powerful howl. If you hear her howling, come back to her immediately. If you feel like you are being watched or followed, hide and do not make a sound. Have your Beast call out to us. We will find you and we will bring you to safety. That is my rule, please, follow it. I too don't want to lose you."
"Yes, Mom. Yes, Dad." They said in unison. I smiled and held up a blanket for the girls to remove their clothes behind and change to their Beasts. Ursis did the same for the boys.
Ellie's Beast, was a fox. Nikki, was a red wolf. Kade, was a black bear. Ben however, was nervous to change to his Beast. The others had gone off with Ursis while I stayed behind with Ben. "What's the matter my boy?" I gently placed my hand on his arm.
"You all have powerful Beasts." He paused and turned away. "Mine is small and weak."
I pulled him into my arms and hugged him tightly. "Never say that, Ben. Even the smallest of creatures can have big roles to play and if you get bullied for having a small Beast, I'll bite their little heads off. No one and I mean no one, has the right to judge another based on which Beast chose them."
Ben nodded and pulled away. He slipped his short off and changed forms. He was right about being small. He was in fact, a rabbit. I gently picked him up. and snuggled him. "I'm so embarrassed." He muttered.
"Never be. A rabbit is faster than a wolf, and quick witted in times of need. You need not be embarrassed about having a rabbit as a Beast."
He looked at me with his ears perked. "I'm faster than a wolf?" I smiled and nodded. "That's awesome! Will you race with me than? I want to know if I'm faster than a dire wolf."
I giggled and placed Ben on the ground. He turned around so that I may remove my clothing and change forms. "Are you two ready?" I looked over and saw Adonis standing by the door.
I nodded and stood beside Ben, ready to sprint. I watched Adonis drop a handkerchief and Ben and I took off into the forest at top speed.
