It had taken nearly a week to bring Kaven and Roland back to full health. They still hadn't grown any, but that was just a matter of time. We were currently sitting in a huge room that somewhat resembled a throne room, but it was full of perches. Aalto took the perch that was the lowest. Kaven took the middle perch and Roland took the highest. That was the order that they were born in. "Alright everyone, be seated on your perches or chairs. This meeting will start now." Aalto's voice caused everyone to settle down. "As we all know, we have a few things to cover in this meeting. First, I will start with the bad news. We are going to war with the Witches. They are now a threat and they must be terminated."  "Uh-- Excuse me Roland, but there is really only one and a few of her followers, but they are still strong. My Aunt Helena, her two daughters, and some of her close friends." Roland glared at Ursis, but Aalto fluttered his wings to get his attention. "Roland, he has a point. I grew up with him and call him Father. His own Mother has given our Mother her witch powers. If we can take out those that Father has mentioned, I truly believe that we all would be safer."  I watched as Roland thought over what Aalto said. He looked to be considering it too. "I hear you little brother, however, I do not think that will be the case. Witches fear us because we can remove their powers. We were the ones whom gave them their gifts."  "Roland. Hear me." Kaven paused. I had noticed that his eyes were white as if he was blind, but he could still fly and land with no problems. "I have seen things while in our time of need. Father is right. Only a few need to be terminated. The others are being tortured by Helena and her followers."  Roland's feathers puffed up. "I hear you, my little brothers. Allow me some time to think about your words, including yours, Father. Let us move on to the next topic while I think."  Roland gave Aalto a nod for him to take the stand. "The next topic we need to talk about is, the three of us brothers. We were born from our Mother. It is true that we are triplets. The curse is not true. Elder Caine has lied to you. From the day we were born, we were meant to lead you as the rightful Leaders. However, Elder Caine had made you all believe that we are a curse and attempted to kill me after beating my elder brothers near to death. So, from this day forward, my Brothers and I, will lead you with bravery, fairness, and most of all, love. We will lead you all to a better future than that of Elder Caine."  Cheers erupted from the phoenixes in the room. News would spread fast with how happy they were. Even I couldn't help but smile. Kaven spread his wings to silence the crowd. "There is great news in this last topic, but we must go back to Roland for his thoughts before we continue on." Kaven looked to Roland.  "Yes, little brother. I have thought it over and I am willing to agree on one condition. All witches will be held on trial before they will be set free to live their lives. Kaven, you are the only one that can see who lies and who doesn't. Will you be my right wing in this?"  Kaven lowered his head in agreement. Then, Roland looked at Aalto. The three of them had to all agree, or it would be put to vote, having the entire phoenix species put in a vote. "I believe you, Roland, but Mother and Father don't seem to understand." Aalto looked at us. It was true, I really didn't understand what Roland meant. I could tell Ursis felt the same too. "Kaven, would you kindly do a demonstration?" With a nod from Aalto, I stepped forward. I watched at Kaven looked at me with his solid white eyes. I won't lie, it is rather creepy having a blind creature looking right at you as if they can see you. I shivered under his gaze. "Tell me three things, but one has to be a lie." I thought for a moment. "I got pregnant by a water phoenix. I have biological children. I am a Queen." "You have told only one lie. You have no biological children. Your children are all adopted. You are in fact, a Queen and you also, did in fact get pregnant by a water phoenix. Again, Tell me three things."  I took a deep breath. "I have a dire wolf for my Beast, I have killed and Onyx killed my unborn child."  "You speak three truths." Kaven looked at Urisis. "You however, are thinking all lies." "And may they never be spoken." Ursis said, his voice echoing in the room.  After the meeting was over, I followed Roland to his nest. It was surprisingly big, even for a fully grown phoenix. "My Brother, Aalto spoke highly of you while you were waiting before the meeting. He claims that you lost your sanity for him at one point. Kaven proved that to be true to me. However, I do not trust you. You are to prove to me that you are worthy of my trust. Be my Mother or not. You are a Beast and have always been."  I stood there astonished. I wasn't expecting this to be what he wanted to speak to me privately about. It took me a moment to realize that he was waiting for me to speak, but I was still processing what he had told me. He calls me Mother in front of everyone, yet here he tells me he doesn't trust me? This made me angry. "Well sorry that I wasn't allowed to raise you. Besides, it wasn't my idea to have to removed and placed here right after your birth. You not trusting me and yet calling me Mother really pisses me off. I gave birth to you three, I am your Mother. Respect is earned, not given Roland." I growled his name. "Also, for you information, I got Onyx not too long ago. I wasn't always a Beast. He was given to me." Roland stared at me with his beak open and eyes wide. I didn't even bother waiting from him to respond. I just changed into my wolf form and turned my tail up to him. Call me immature, but he deserved it.  That night, I stayed away from Roland, even when he called for me. I was still way too angry with him. Onyx wanted to rip him apart and I knew that I wouldn't be able to stop him from taking over. "Ixora, there you are." Ursis sat on the grass next to me. "Everyone has been looking for you, you know."  I looked at him, letting out a sigh. I hated being so mad, but it happens easily when we become Beasts. "I know. I've been listening."  Ursis mindlessly ran his fingers through my fur. "Aalto spoke with Roland. He understands now why you nearly bit his head off."  "Yeah? What did he say?" This caught my attention for some reason.  "Aalto told him everything, from the start until now. Roland told Aalto that he can't trust anyone unless they are his own two brothers. He wants to apologise to you for what he said to you in his room. His exact words were; 'I wish to apologise to my Mother for my rude actions and horrid words. If she shall not come to me, I will find her and bow my head to her. For she is my Mother and will always be. Whether she be a Beast and I a phoenix, or not.' " I couldn't help it. I burst into laughter. It was very funny to hear Ursis speaking like Roland. "I'm sorry, but that's just too funny!"  "Yeah, but come on. Roland is waiting." Ursis gave my ribs a small pat and stood up.  "Yeah, no. He can come to me. It's a show of respect for him to come to me."
