The Dream

The next day, I woke up to an angry banging at the door.  “Eddy, get up, it’s time for training.”  It was Rylee, I got ready and headed out to the training room. In the room, Rylee had gotten out the rock climbing equipment.  “When we attack Mr. Bourne's main base, we are gonna need to climb Niagara Falls.  Of course, luckily the water is gone, else we would have to jump in,”  she said. “What do you mean, jump in,”  I ask. She huffed a laugh and said, “Well unless you wanted to swim, we would have to Skydive in, and boat out.  Either way, we are boating out, that river goes all the way up to Lake Erie.  There is a cave on the side of the river which we will hide in till it blows over, then return here.” “How long do you suppose we are going to take getting 14 people up a wall,”  I ask, rather puzzled because our plan was happening in broad daylight. I remembered as she spoke, “As long as we need, as long as we…” I intrude and say, “...have Mikayla make us invisible and make no sound.” “Exactly,”  she exclaimed, she was smiling now, and that’s when it happened… I saw people burning in a pit of fire outside his place, the lake under Niagara falls was a pit of lava, and I heard their cries.  All of them, my dad, Mikayla, Preston, Andrew, Amber, Sarah, Lily, David, Chloe, Luis, Paiton, and one that hurt the most.  Rylee, her hair and scalp was burning, her skin peeling as she screamed for help.  But no one was there to help her, I suddenly could see again, curled up on the ground.  I must have been clawing at my head because there were marks of where the nails were.  She was standing over me. “Are you okay?”  Rylee said, looking worried. I answered, “I don’t know.  That’s never happened before.” “Do you think it was real?”  she said. She must have seen what I saw, but she definitely did have the same effect because she was standing, “I don’t know, I hope not.” “I don’t want it to be real either.”  when she helped me up my legs collapsed and I fell to the ground again. I looked up, “I sure hope this isn’t a problem either.” She helped me walk back to my room, my father was waiting there, he had brought Mikayla and Preston with him. He spoke in a hopeful tone, “Ah, you see I knew they would be coming.”  He then knew something was wrong, “What is wrong my son.” “We need to talk,”  I said firmly. Preston and Mikayla left the room and Rylee and I sat on my bed, she was still supporting me, as I couldn’t sit on my own now.  My father stood at the door and looked at us, “What happened that makes you come to me?”  He asked, concerning clear as day in his voice. “We were training for the wall climb, I remember talking about the plan to invade the Narrator’s base.  And then I saw something. He looked more interested than worried now, “What did you see?” I responded, “I saw them every one, burning, in a lake of fire outside his base.” “I see.”  He said, stroking his chin. I was slightly annoyed and asked, “What do you make of this?” “Aye, this is proof of what I feared.  I saw words that said they will follow him, but they will be engulfed in fire when they destroy the enemy.  Have you told anyone else of this?”  He said. His reaction surprised me, “No, why?” He answered, “Because if they know it will happen, I knew your gift long before you now found it.  You can see the multiple realities and possibilities of this world.  If you tell them then it will be as you have seen.  You are gifted, my friend, and you are meant to be the best of us.” Rylee and I stagger out of the room, I can feel my legs now but they are still weak and can’t support my weight.  She sits me down in a chair in the kitchen. “I read your letter,  I know you wanted to speak through them rather than in person but I feel it’s better if all is said before we can’t say anything, the times are changing.  Yes, I like you too.  And I’m glad you told me, I was too nervous to tell you myself.”  Rylee said as she was cooking. This caused a bubbly feeling inside, I didn’t know what to say, “Well I guess there’s no problem speaking in person now.”  I said happily that I’m able to finally speak with her. She turned and smiled with me, “Yes, yes it is.  And I’m glad the dream is not real.” We walk out to the meeting room, I’m still being helped, but I can help now a little.  My legs are still weak but I’m able to move them. She sits me down again and we begin the meeting. “Now, time to discuss what we are gonna be doing for the next few weeks,”  she said. I look up at her happy that she is confident with speaking, as my father did say she was usually timid.  What a day, it couldn’t have been any better.
