Caleb's massive form loomed in the wide-open iron door of the dungeon cell. The choking scent of ash and pine needles burned through the bitter air, clashing with Kaelen's black ice and cedar. "I asked you a question, brother," Caleb drawled, entering the dimly lit cell bathed in moonlight. His amber gaze snared Kaelen's bloodied hand, before flicking to the silver hunting dagger I still clutched in my shaking fist. "What kind of blood pact are you making with Father's little thief?"
