Chapter 6

1885 Words
Scott ran after Gina and stood in front of her to stop her from going any further. She looked scared like she thought he was going to hurt her as well. She was in tears and she was panting. She had never experienced something like this before. Hitmen attempting to kill her and a strange creature defending her. She didn't even know what Scott was, all she knew was that he wasn't normal, he wasn't human. "Gina please let me explain." Scott could not believe how scared Gina was of him right now, she looked at him with horror in her eyes, like he was one of those serial killers who killed women for fun. But did Gina really see him as a serial killer? Or did she just see him as a monster? "please." He whimpered. "don't be afraid of me, I'll never hurt you." Gina saw the sadness in his eyes, it was obvious that he was heartbroken seeing her look at him like he was a beast, like he was abnormal. She saw the truth in his beautiful eyes, the eyes she always looked at every time she saw him, not the eyes she saw five minutes ago. It was beautiful, but still horrifying to see. Gina decided to give him a chance. She closed her eyes and decided to take a deep breath, she released and she looked at him. She tried her best to calm down, she tried her best to stop shaking. This was Scott after all, sweet innocent-looking Scott who was there for her when she was going through a tough time. But then again, Scott wasn't human. Gina couldn't begin to start theorizing about what he was. So she decided to ask. "What are you?" She asked and Scott knew that was the first question she was going to ask. But Scott didn't want to answer all her questions now. "I'll answer all your questions, let's just move away from this area and find a motel." Scott waited for her to say something, she looked skeptical. "Trust me, Gina. Please." Gina didn't want to but she had to, she had no choice she didn't know what to do from here. Where was she going to run to anyway? "Okay, let me just go change my shirt and see if there's a spare tire in the trunk." She looked at his white shirt which was covered in blood, the sight of it almost made her want to throw up. He walked away. Gina didn't want to turn, she didn't want to see the dead men who got killed by her innocent-looking personal assistant. She stood still facing the other side of the road, scared and impatient. She wasn't just scared that Scott might kill her like what he did to those men, she was scared the police might catch them, and Gina wouldn't know how to explain how it all happened. After a few minutes, Scott walked up to her and told her he had successfully replaced the tire. Gina was relieved. She quickly walked up to the car, leaving Scott behind. She didn't once look down at the dead bodies on the ground. Immediately she got to the car it hit her. "Do you know how to drive?" She asked him and he smiled. "Of course I do." Gina didn't hesitate, she got into the backseat and Scott's smile faded away. He knew it was too good to be true, she didn't trust him and it pained him to know that. All he knew was that he had to get her out of that area before anyone found out. His only fear was that that douche bag of a driver didn't run away with the car keys. Luckily Scott saw the keys and he got into the car, started it, and drove off to a nearby motel. The drive to the motel was silent, Gina didn't say a word Scott could feel Gina's gaze on him, trying to study him, trying to understand how this was possible. Scott couldn't blame her, but he had to let her know that he wasn't a monster. They had booked two separate rooms and Scott loved how Gina was so good at hiding that she was scared when she faced the woman that was the motel manager. Gina and Scott both went to their rooms and before Scott could settle in Gina had barged into his room not caring if he was going to be naked or not. "The truth, now!" Gina said and Scott didn't complain. He told her to sit for the explanation but Gina didn't listen, she stood still with her arms folded, and Scott sighed and told her everything. He started with, "I'm a werewolf." Scott explained how it was like being a werewolf and how the shapeshifting process was when the full moon was out. He had also told her about the rogue werewolves killing his parents. If he was going to tell her the truth he might as well tell her everything. The only secrets he kept were of Dave being a werewolf and him being in love with her, that was all. Gina looked at him in disbelief. Scott knew that that was going to be her reaction, explaining the supernatural world to humans wasn't easy especially when humans had lived their lives in a supernatural free world, well, most of them. "Are you—" Gina started and she stopped, Scott wanted her to be free with him, to ask him any questions. "I don't know what I want to ask I just need time alone." Gina walked out the door, Scott called her name but she had already gone. It was no use, Scott just needed to give her space, she needed it. He wasn't going to press any further. Gina was pacing in her room, this was her first time being in a motel and she wanted to have an exciting experience but instead, she was living in fear. Why was she scared? Yes, werewolves existed but that didn't mean she was going to get eaten by a Scott, Scott was harmless so why was she frightened? Or could it be that she was just scared about what had happened with the hitmen and not Scott? Barbara had stooped so low, that she had sent hitmen to kill her. She had had enough of Barbara's bullshit, it was time to put her plan in motion, but to do that, she needed Dave and Scott's help. But then she ruled out calling Dave, involving him in this wasn't such a good idea and she didn't know where she stood with Scott. All she knew was that she had seen him in a different light and she was ready for anything Barbara threw at her. **** Scott had driven Gina to the Kevins' company where she was to hold her meeting, Scott should have known better than to think everything would go back to normal the next day, but of course, it didn't. The worst part was Gina had told Scott to wait in the car while she took all her files to the meeting on her own, of course, he wanted to protest but he chose not to. If she wanted space then she got it. The worst-case scenario was that she fired him and that wasn't what Scott wanted. After a few hours, Gina was out of the gigantic building along with some older men, she shook hands with some of them and they went on with their day with a smile. "You're just as smart as your dad, I'm impressed." The old man said and Gina wanted to call him out on his misogyny but she didn't want to. She didn't understand why men thought that way, because she was a woman he didn't think she was smart, and why did she have to be compared to her dad? Gina would never understand men and she didn't think she would. At least they agreed to partner with Green's apparel. That was all she wanted. When she walked back to the car she saw Scott sleeping. He looked so adorable, this didn't look like someone who was a killer, he didn't look like a wolf he looked like a puppy. But of course, she couldn't say that because. She was still confused about the whole thing. Sure Gina had always believed in aliens, but werewolves? Never. She watched Twilight and The Vampire Diaries and she loved them both but she never thought werewolves could be possible. Gina got in the car and slammed the door which made Scott jump, Gina held a laugh when she saw him using his hand to remove the drool from his mouth and how confused he was. "You're back." He said and Gina said yes. Then he apologized and started the car. "No need to apologize." She muttered but then she remembered, Scott wasn't human, so he probably heard her. He probably had super hearing. Gina sunk in her seat in embarrassment. As before, the drive down to the motel was quiet. That was weird because Gina and Scott usually had a lot to talk about. But now it was just weird. Gina saw him differently now. When they got to the motel, Gina thanked Scott and walked into the motel. She was about to go to her room but the Motel Manager stopped her. "Gina Green?" She said and Gina turned around and squinted her eyes. "Yes?" "This just arrived in the mail for you." The robust white woman with red hair gave her a white envelope. Gina already knew what was inside. "Thank you," Gina said. "Don't mention it. Oh, did you guys hear about the men who were killed by wolves? Well, they didn't say wolves exactly the police just said they were attacked by a wild animal." Gina and Scott took a glance at each other. Gina shrugged. "We just have to be more careful then." She said. "It's so strange because s**t like that doesn't happen in Michigan. Wild animals? Please, I bet it's something out of the ordinary that killed them." The motel manager was so confident in what she had just said it was almost like she saw when everything went down. Gina looked at a worried Scott again and then looked away. "Excuse me." She said and then walked to her room. Scott also knew what was in the envelope and he wanted to be there to protect her, but he couldn't because as of now Gina didn't trust her. Immediately Gina got into her room she ripped off the envelope and looked at the nice handwriting and she was right. It was another death threat. You won't be so lucky next time. Gina was tired of being scared, she had to act now, she had to do something about this. She wasn't going to be a pawn in someone's game. She had to strengthen up. So she called her stepmother, and if she wanted to play dirty games, she was going to play dirty games. Barbara picked up the call. "Hello, darling," Barbara said enthusiastically. "How are yo—" "Game on bitch." Gina hung up and squeezed the paper and threw it into the trash can.
