Scott rang the doorbell, he was at Gina's house. Her house was so big with a wide space and a gate, a beautiful gate you have to pass through before getting in. Gina had lived in mansions all her life, Scott was sure she wanted to live in her old house, the house she grew up in but she couldn't do that because her wicked stepmother was living there. And to Gina that would have been the easiest way Barbara could get her killed.
Scott was here with his duffel bag, getting ready for a business trip to Michigan with Gina, this wasn't the first time going on a business trip with her this was his second time. The first one was the first and only time Gina got to see him at night. It was also the first time Scott had ever been to town square, they had gone to New York.
Now he was going to go to Michigan with her for a business meeting. All he had to do was help her while he watched her being the strong woman she was.
He was in a white shirt, tucked into his black pants, black shoes, and black socks. He also had a wristwatch around his wrist he took his job seriously because he also didn't want to disappoint her.
Maria, the housekeeper opened the door with a smile.
"Hello Scott, come in."
"Thanks, Maria." Maria was in her late forties, with dark hair, tall and slim, she had been Gina's housekeeper for as long as he could remember and she knew that Scott had feelings for Gina when she overheard him talking about her on the phone with Victor. When Scott saw that Maria was listening the whole time, he begged her not to say anything. But ever since then she couldn't stop pestering him, wanting him to confess his feelings to her.
"Wow, you dressed up good for the madam." She wiggled her eyebrows. If Maria wasn't married Scott would have labeled her as a single woman who couldn't mind her business but she was married and she had two kids. She was just looking out for him, and she always wanted her boss to date her personal assistant who was better than dating a high-class man who was a boss in another company.
"I did this for myself, Maria." Scott nodded with a smile.
"Oh but, Madam's gonna love—"
"Maria! Is Scott here?" She yelled. And that made Maria flinch.
"Ye— yes ma'am." She walked down the stairs wearing a pink blouse, black pants, and pink shoes, her ginger hair was done in a bun, exposing her smooth long neck. Scott had fantasized about kissing that neck, he was fantasizing about it now and his thoughts were interrupted by a nudge from Maria.
"I, uh— huh?"
"I said you look nice this morning Scott," Gina said with a smile and he thanked her. Her bags were already downstairs. This was a two days trip so Scott didn't understand why she needed so many bags. He thought it best not to question it. He could do it in his head but not out loud.
Maria helped put Gina's bags in the trunk of the car and Gina and Scott both got in. They were both in the car together in the back seat while the driver was in the front seat. This wasn't the first time being in a car with her he just wasn't used to sitting so close to her, that familiar scent of perfume and shampoo hit him at the right spot. He was a werewolf so those kinds of scents were strong.
They went to the airport and got on a plane for their trip to Michigan. Sitting in a plane next to her was way worse cause they were really close to each other. Sometimes Scott would fantasize about kissing her but he ruled that thought out.
"Are you okay?" She asked him.
"Oh, who me?" He giggled. "yeah I'm good."
Gina stared at him because she wasn't convinced.
"Scott if you don't like flying on air then just—"
"No, no no it's not that I'm fine I'm totally fine."
"Okay then, if you say so." She grabbed a magazine and flipped it open. He just sat there and he let his thoughts lead the way. He wanted to ask if seeing Dave again was a good idea but like she said, it was none of his business.
After two hours they got off the plane and a car was waiting for them outside the airport. Gina shook the driver's hand and got into the car the driver who was young and good-looking shook Scott's hand and Scott followed Gina into the car.
The fact that Gina wanted to go to a Motel and not a hotel screamed humility. She said she wanted to spend two nights at a hotel because she wanted to know what it felt like. She thought hotels were boring. A rich girl from New Orleans choosing a motel over a five-star hotel wasn't something you saw every day.
He didn't want to tell her, he didn't want to say anything but he said it anyway.
"I don't think it's a good idea for you to go back to being together with Dave." He blurted out and Gina shot him a confused gaze.
"What?"
He was shaking.
"I— I don't want you seeing Dave anymore."
Shit, no not like that. He thought, resisting the urge to slap himself.
"Scott where's all this coming from?" She asked.
"It's just that, he treated you badly and I watched you cry over this guy. Hell, do you even know why he left?" Scott knew he was beginning to sound jealous. Gina was about to open her mouth but then she heard an exploding sound. The car began to screech. Gina fell on top of Scott and Scott held onto her. The driver was in one position because he had his seat belt on.
The tire of the car must have busted, but what could have caused it?
Gina, looked around and they were in the middle of nowhere, the motel was probably close by.
"What happened?" Gina asked the driver. The driver turned around and he was smiling. Both Gina and Scott were confused as to why he saw this amusing. That was until he brought out a gun and pointed it directly at them.
"Get out of the car." He said and there was a knock on the window. Gina turned around and there was a big man with a gun, waving at them. The man was bald and he had a lot of tattoos on his body. He opened the door for Gina and Gina who was shaking got out of the car. The fake driver instructed Scott to follow Gina to the other side of the door and he did that. Both Gina and Scott had their hands raised in surrender. When they turned around they saw four other men with guns.
Gina knew who was behind this. She didn't know Barbara was coward enough not to show her face. But this was going to be the end of the Greens legacy. She didn't even get a chance to say goodbye to Maria or Mr. Russo or Dave. She had brought Scott into this mess.
"Who do we kill first?" The big man with the bald head asked the driver and the driver looked at Gina.
"Let's kill her first." He pointed at her. "We got orders to kill her after all." He turned to Scott and smiled. "And her playboy is going to watch." They all laughed. "let's do this quickly we don't have much time."
This was the end for Gina. She closed her eyes while still shaking. Getting ready for anything. But then she heard a growl, it was coming from— Scott. She had heard that growl before. It was just that, she always thought she imagined it.
She opened her eyes and looked at him, she couldn't believe what she was seeing. Scott's eyes went golden brown, and he was gritting his teeth. She heard another sound coming from below, when Gina looked she saw what looked like claws.
This couldn't be happening. This was more terrifying than the gunmen.
Scott quickly punched the big man and used his claws to scratch him on the chest. When the others saw what had just happened they began to tremble. But that didn't stop them from raising their guns.
Scott went after the other men, and Gina looked down at the bald man, blood stained his white shirt and he was dead. She turned over to Scott who was viciously attacking the other men. He had saved the best for last.
He had held the driver high up in the air and told him to tell whoever that sent him to stop. His voice was different, cold, it screamed danger. Gina had never seen anything like it before. Scott dropped him to the ground and he began to run and so did Gina.
