Chapter 14

Gina started working on the files but after a while her mind went off to Scott. He wasn't also absent again that morning. It was still early and he might still come by the office. She thought and tried to focus her attention on the files she was working on. Not quite long she heard a knock on the door and she wondered who it was. The thought of Scott came into her mind and a smile quickly found its way into her face. "Come in." She said,

"Hey baby," Dave smiled and walked towards her and her smiles faded away immediately.

"Hey." She managed to say, by then Dave was already standing in front of her.

"I guess you were early today." Dave said, smiling.

"Yes I am," she faked a smile, and Dave quickly took his seat on the chair opposite her.

"So how was your night? And hope you slept well?" Dave asked.

"Slowly down, well my night was fine and I also slept well." She replied.

"Ok that's better." Dave said,

"Yes, what about yours?" She asked.

"Well mine was actually good too." Dave replied.

"I'm really sorry for last night." She apologized again.

"No it's fine, I understand you and besides I have even forgotten about it." Dave said,

"Ok thanks, I really appreciate your understanding." She replied.

"Anyways, I will get going now, but I will be back at lunch break, so we could hold out together, hope that's ok with you?" He asked.

"Yes sure it is." She replied.

"Alright, I just wanted to say hi before so I guess I have done that now and you need to get to work now." He told her.

"Yes bye then, I will see you later." She said, and he smiled and got up on his feet and started walking away. He walked out of her office leaving just her again with the files.

Gina sighed and continued with the work she was doing. She was actually excited before thinking it was Scott, she had been waiting for him to come back but it seems he wouldn't be coming back anytime soon. So she just has to get used to staying in the office with him for a while. She focused back her attention on the files in her hand.

Meanwhile for the past two days that Scott hasn't been in the office he has been in his pack. He was indoors for a while because he felt really hurt by how Gina had treated him and called him a liar. And he was even more hurt to know that the kiss they both shared the night at the party meant nothing to Gina and to him it really meant so much. He was so sad and thought of just staying away from her for a very long time. He doesn't intend to return to the office anytime soon and he might not even return back to that office because he can't stand seeing Gina for now. He is so hurt beyond comparison. He was seated in his chamber when he heard a knock on his door. He frowned immediately because he wasn't really expecting any one and talking to anyone right now is the last thing he will want to do.

"Who's there? and what do you want?" He asked.

"It's me Alpha." He heard a female voice.

"Like I said earlier, what do you want?" He asked again.

"Alpha breakfast is served." She said,

"You can take the food away, I don't feel like eating anything right now." He told her.

"But Alpha." She was talking but he interrupted her.

"No but just go away." He replied.

"Ok Alpha, I'm so sorry." She said, and he could hear her footsteps fade away. He sighed and continued with his sad thoughts.

He was super sad because Gina was his mate and she was expected to be his Luna. He has spent some time with her and the time he spent with her working for her, he had learned to love her so very much. He couldn't still believe she would just rejected him just like that, and the most hurtful part was that she was defending a murderer and evil rogue like Dave. He was going to stay far away from Gina and allow her to date a so-called rogue boyfriend. Since she likes him so very much he wasn't even going to show his face to her ever again.

He remains in his room dwelling in his thoughts while the cook is seated in the kitchen and thinking of a good way to get him to eat. She knew for sure that something was definitely wrong with their Alpha because since he returned back to the pack about two days ago he had never had any food or even water and she knows that isn't their Alpha something was wrong and she would have to look for a way to fix it. She walked out of the kitchen and started heading out of the house. She was going to look for the Beta who she knew was close to Scott so she would complain to him about his behaviors since he returned back to the pack. Something needs to be done about this new attitude or else it may continue. And she was so concerned about him. She had been the cook in their house for a very long time and she has watched him grow into the strong man he has become.

She was actually in the house when his parents were killed by those dangerous monsters that called themselves rogues and since then she had always taken care of Scott like her son. Scott was a little stubborn but she had learned to keep up with him. But honestly she wants to see him always happy. Since his parents were killed he wasn't that happy soul she used to know but she could only wish he found his happiness again. She wanted him to find him a mate as Soon as possible too so she could also make him a happy man. Because she still sees the sadness in him but for a while now she could see him happy whenever he comes into the pack to do one thing or the other but his last arrival was very bad. Because he looked super sad that ever. It was like when his parents just died and she could only wonder what made him so sad. She might find out later but for now she has to make sure someone talks to him and makes him out of the shadow that he is right now.

She stopped in front of the Beta house and knocked. Just then the door flipped open and Alex came out. She explained everything to Beta Alex who immediately got prepared and went with her. He was surprised that all of what she just mentioned has been happening but she was just letting him know about it now. They both walked into the house and she told him where to find Scott and without wasting much time he made his way to Scott chamber. Alex knocked at his door and Scott frowned again hearing the knock he actually thought it was the cook again.

"Didn't I tell you I'm not hungry." He yelled.

"It's not her, it me Alex." Alex said,

"Oh Alex," Scott sighed.

"Yes, can I come in?" He asked.

"Yes, sure." Scott replied. And just then the door opened and Alex walked in.

They both started talking about all what was happening and Scott narrated all what happened between himself and Gina to him. Alex actually felt sorry for him and he totally understood him and what he was going through. He knows what it's meant to be rejected by his mate after everything he has gone through because of those rogues that killed his parents. Alex advised him to try and forget about her for the meantime so they could focus on the monster that killed his parents and bring them to justice. Scott thought about what he had said and made some sense of it. But he knows it won't be easy for him to just stop thinking about Gina but he has to get his mind on something else that would make him forget about her for a while.

After a while they both went out of his room and Beta Alex asked the cook to get him some food as they both went into the dining room. The cook served them some food and they quickly started eating. After eating they both took a walk around the pack until it was noon. They didn't just return home but they continued walking around as they both talked about the pack and also their plans of bringing the rogues now. Scott thought he had found one of the rogues and that one could lead them to the others if they followed him up well. Alex quickly agreed with him. Scott told him he was going to go back to his house in the human world and also try to follow the rogue he had seen up and get to know the others. Alex told him to carry on with his plans but ask if he could go with him to the human world when he is going back.

"I'm sorry Alex but you can't go to the human world, you are needed here since I'm absent for now." Scott told him.

"I'm tired of staying here without doing anything, I want to also help out, you know." Alex said,

"I understand you my friend but the people here need a lead and you are my next in command and since I'm always in the human world they would need you or else they will be without a leader here, to run to in time of need." Scott explained.

"Hmm," he exhaled. "I can only just hope now that I will finally go to the human world with you someday." He said,

"Yes I'm sure you will someday but it just is not right now." Scott told him.

"It ok, I understand." He sighed and they both started talking about something else.

Dave drove Gina back to her company after they had their lunch. And she got down from his car and thanked him for taking her to the Fancy restaurant again. Dave told her it was nothing and she asked to go into her office now. But Dave stopped her and got down from his car and stood in front of her. "You are so beautiful." He complimented and she just smiled and blinked her eyes rapidly.

"I love you so much Gina." He told her.

"I love you too." She replied, and he quickly pulled her closer to him and kissed her in the lips. Gina wasn't expecting that but she didn't want him to feel bad again after what happened last night. She decided to kiss him back even though she wasn't really happy about it. They kissed for a while before they finally disengaged from the kiss and Dave smiled at her and pecked her on the forehead while she just faked a smile and he hugged her closer to him. They stayed that way for a while and she relaxed back on the hug.

Some of her staff were also just coming back from their lunch break and they saw them hugged. They just smiled and passed by. Meanwhile Gina noticed them and got a little shy seeing some of their eyes on them. She wished she could just disengage from the hug immediately but she can't do that too. So she just allowed him to continue hugging her until he felt like let's go after a while. They both remain standing closer to Dave's car as they both talk about some random things and Gina just smiles while listening to him talking for sometime before she finally starts walking back into the building.
