Chapter 9

Gina quickly jumped out of bed, she thought of the craziest dream she had. But then she realized it wasn't a dream, it actually happened. She kissed Scott, she kissed her personal assistant, and she kissed a werewolf. "Shit." She muttered under her breath. She regretted it, or did she? The kiss was good though. His lips were so soft, and she couldn't stop thinking of the passionate way he was kissing her. Could it be that he had feelings for her? Could it be that she had feelings for him? She flinched when she heard a knock on the door. "Gina!" It was Scott. "Are you awake, you've received another mail." Gina quickly got out of bed and ran to open the door. Scott was fully dressed in his green shirt, tie, and black pants. Gina snapped out of staring at him and took the envelope from him. She began to open it and unsurprisingly. It was another death threat. I won't rest "Okay, she's starting to annoy me," Gina said. "Yeah, tell me about it." Gina looked at the letter once more and she shook her head. She thought her stepmother was going through some mental health issues because no one sane would be able to do something like this. She looked at Scott who was looking at the letter and she shook her head. "You wait for me downstairs, let me get ready and we'll go to the office." Scott walked out and Gina sighed, she was relieved that he didn't bring up what happened to them last night. She wasn't sure he was going to keep this to himself but still, she wasn't ready for that this morning, she had better issues at hand. Scott wanted to talk to her about that kiss, but the stupid letter arrived. Now talking about it would be selfish. She was going to have to talk to the men she hired to spy on her stepmother. Maria was dusting the vases when she sensed Scott's distress, she had a hunch as to why Scott was frowning and standing like all hope was lost. She felt bad for him. She moved closer to him. "Everything ok?" Scott was startled because he didn't see her coming, it was like she came out of nowhere. Scott nodded. "Yeah." He said but he knew she wasn't convinced because her eyebrows were raised. He groaned. "okay fine. I don't know if Gina has feelings for me or if she's playing with me." "Ooh, the Madam doesn't play games," Maria said and deep down Scott knew that was true, she didn't have time to play such games when her creepy stepmother was out to kill her. And it also wasn't in her nature. "have you considered talking to her." "I don't know, every time I try I end up chickening out, and besides she's with that douchebag." Scott saw the disgust on Maria's face and he laughed. "You don't like him do you." "It's not my place, but no he's a jerk for leaving Madam." "Tell me about it. He acts like he's so high and mighty with his ironed suit and expensive wristwatch when in reality he's just a dog." Literally. He thought. Maria giggled at that and then she let out a loud sigh. "My advice, talk to her. A deep conversation can bring up so many results. There are only two things that can happen she either says she doesn't feel the same way or she does. If she doesn't feel the same way it doesn't mean she'll fire you or anything and if she does and she's still with Dave, you just have to give her time and space to be able to make a decision. And remember, choices are hard." She was right, Scott knew she was right. She was older than him so of course, she was right. "Thanks, Maria." He said with a smile on his face. "Ah, no problem, I really like you for Madam not that dog in a suit." They both laughed and Maria went back to work. Scott sighed and he just stood there. He began to think of that kiss, the kiss he had always wanted since he became her PA. It wasn't his first kiss though. His first kiss was with Pamela Harris, they were both in middle school and the kiss was terrible because her lips tasted like toothpaste. Later on, he found out that she loved licking toothpaste. It was gross. Yesterday he kissed Gina Green, even though her lips tasted a little bit like alcohol it was still an amazing kiss and he couldn't stop thinking about it, he hoped Gina felt the same way. **** Gina and Scott are at the office. Scott waited for Gina to be done with her call with one of the men she hired to spy on Barbara. It seemed like there was progress because Scott kept seeing Gina nod her head and smile. "You took pictures of her with that man right?" She waited for an answer and then she nodded her head, she looked impressed, happy. "Great, thank you Gustavo keep me posted okay? Great, okay bye." She hung up and Scott immediately asked what had happened. "Gustavo caught my stepmother Barbie going to a shady area and giving a man an envelope and according to Gustavo she looked suspicious." "What do you think she was doing there?" "Probably paying another hitman to kill me." Gina rolled her eyes. "if she wants me dead why not just do it herself?" "Maybe she's afraid of you." Scott giggled "Yeah, right I highly doubt that." She smiled at him and they stared at each other for another five seconds. They just couldn't stop looking each other in the eye. This was Scott's chance to tell her how he felt but then she cleared her throat. "Uh. I need coffee." She said and Scott clapped his hands. "I'm on it." He walked away, a part of him was relieved that he was leaving the room. Awkwardness flew in the air. Immediately after he left Gina put her palms on her face and began to groan. She didn't understand what was wrong with her, she had too much on her mind right now to be worrying about boys. She never thought this to be her life. She had always thought she'd be partners with her dad, they would have been a powerful duo. But death didn't care about Gina's dreams, death didn't care about anybody's dreams. Scott was walking toward the other door when he bumped into Dave. "Woah!" He said. Dave was dressed in a black shirt, black pants, and nice black shoes and he had a chain around his neck. He also smelt like cologne. Scott wanted to punch him in the face, or worse tell him that he didn't deserve Gina. But he refrained because he knew Gina wouldn't like that. Scott didn't notice he was holding Dave's hand until Dave asked him to let go. Scott looked at his hands holding his and he saw something strange, it was a tattoo, but where had he seen this tattoo from? Then it hit him. The Rogue Werewolf symbol. Dave was a part of that pack. Scott looked at him and Dave's eyebrows were raised. "Dude, are you into me or something? sorry, I'm not gay." He said and then Scott let go of him and walked away.
