Chapter 26

Gina opened the door to her house and walked in. She entered her sitting room and dropped the things in her hand on the table. She proceeded to take off her shoes as she was still seated on a couch. She held the shoes in her hand and also took her laptop and purse before walking out of the sitting room. She went straight to her bedroom and dropped her laptop on her study table before moving away from there. She went towards her closet and flipped it open and took out the bag that she had packed up already. She shut it back and dropped the bag on the ground before walking over to her king size bed. She sat down and slowly started taking off her clothes. She was actually sweaty and felt she needed a bath. Her flight with Dave was 2pm and it was already 12pm so she just has two hours to get everything she would be needing ready. She can't afford to miss that flight for anything. She remained seated in the bed for a while and finally stopped up from the bed to start going to the bathroom. Just then her cell phone rang. She stopped on her track and turned over to the direction of the study table and started walking towards it. She walked over there and picked up her purse and unzipped it and took out the cell phone but the call had already ended before she could answer it.

She checked and called her before and saw that it was a client from another company which was partnering with her own company. She tried to dial the number but he called again and she quickly picked it up this time. She placed the phone on her ears and listened to what the client had to say. She frowned immediately after the call ended. She wasn't happy at all. The client that called her just told her that he has sent his secretary to her office now with the file and he needed her to work on it before tomorrow morning because he would be needing it in the morning for some important business. She wished she could just reject the files and asked him to call back his secretary but that wasn't a good idea. She knew her company was going bankrupt and she was trying her best to fix it, so she can't bear to lose an investor right now because it will definitely add to the situation she already has on the ground. So she has to try her best to please all the little investors she has left so her firm won't totally go down.

She sighed and dropped back her cell phone on the study table and turned around to walk into her bathroom but stopped. She was now confused either to just go off to the office or go into her bathroom to have a cold bath. She has actually had her all day planned and knew something else was now coming up. This was so annoying for her but there was nothing she could do. She would have to go into the bathroom to take a bath first before returning back to her room to get dressed and go over to the office. That investor has just changed her plans. If her company weren't really facing any financial difficulty at the moment she wouldn't have bothered to listen to the investor but now she has no choice.

Gina rushed into her bathroom and had her bath before walking out. She took out a dress from her closet and took up her shoes before rushing to her study table. She picked up her cell phone,purse and laptop again and left the room. Her car keys were still on the table, so she just grabbed it and she started walking away immediately. Soon she was outside her house and she went straight to the garage and got into her car. She hoped there was not much work in the files the investor had sent his secretary to bring to her office because she doesn't have all day. She was having an hour and twenty minutes to do the work and returned back home to get her things.

Gina drove her car speedily to her office and quickly took out her purse and laptop while still holding her car keys in her hand as she ran into the office. She asked her staff about the files and they handed it over to her. She quickly took it and rushed to her office but found it locked. She remembered she had given the keys to her cleaner but she had a spare key with her which she quickly used in opening the door. She walked in and got into her chair. She opened the files and gasped seeing she had so much work to do in the files. And she was now convinced that she would definitely miss her flight. She frowned and started working on the files immediately but pulsed after a while and took up her cell phone. She called Dave and told him she was going to make it today for the trip. She explained to him about the investor and why she needed to take the investor seriously. Dave actually felt disappointed when she told him about it but he said it was ok and told her to just focus on her work that they will have to book another flight the next day before they finally disengaged the call.

Gina sighed and continued working on the files in her desk. She worked on it for hours until she was now starving. So she stopped working and took up her purse and car keys as she left her office. She hadn't had lunch and now she was starving and would need to eat something. So she was now heading to a nearby restaurant but she wouldn't actually sit down in the restaurant to eat but just buy it and leave there immediately.
