I narrowed my eyes immediately. Oh this man wanted war. And honestly? The competition escalated aggressively after that. Trash talking. Accusations of cheating. Me celebrating dramatically every time I scored. Adrian looking deeply offended every time I won. At one point I physically pointed at him and yelled: “THAT LANE IS RACIST.” Meanwhile Adrian folded his arms calmly. “The lane isn’t the issue.” “You’re emotionally abusive.” “You missed the pins completely.” “Because you distracted me.” “With what?” “Your existence.” The man actually laughed softly at that. And honestly? That tiny sound alone made my chest warm embarrassingly fast. Eventually— after several rounds and an emotionally devastating final score I won. Barely.
