And honestly? That was apparently where the real problem began. Because something had shifted overnight. Not dramatically. Not loudly. But enough that people noticed. The first incident happened in the elevator. I was reviewing schedules on my tablet while Adrian answered emails beside me on his phone. Professional. Normal. Very workplace appropriate. Then suddenly— his fingers brushed lightly against my collar. I blinked immediately. “What are you doing?” “It’s folded.” Before I could react properly, Adrian adjusted the collar of my blouse carefully. Casually. Naturally. Like he’d done it a hundred times before. The elevator doors opened directly onto the executive floor at the exact wrong moment. Three employees stood outside waiting. And all three froze instantly.
