The hot shower welcomed Mark as he leaned one hand against the tile wall. The glass door was steamed up, and he wished for just a moment that he could forget the darkness that seemed to fill his days. He’d been forced to write out his memories in pen, the details never to be seen by anyone, maybe to give his brain a way to handle everything. What he had seen could break the strongest of men and women. He heard a pounding at the door. “I’m in the shower!” he yelled. “Leave me alone.” He knew it had come out rather sharply, but he wasn’t ready yet for what they had to do today or for conversation of any kind.
