Saving Grace

My eyes sprung open not an ounce of sleep in sight, I couldn't help the excitement rising in my chest, I rolled over and grabbed my phone to text Grace good morning, it was 6am I knew she'd still be asleep but I loved that she'd be waking up to a text from me.

For the last 48 hours we've done nothing but text back and forth, I feel like I've known her my whole life when it's only been a week.

Dan and Nathan had noticed I'd been on my phone a lot so I just come up with a little white lie that it was just some Alpha friends from Alpha training camp I went to a few years ago. I know they're beginning to grow suspicious but I can't tell them yet, in all honestly I'm worried about Dan's reaction. I'm his Alpha and he can't go against my command but as a friend I don't think he'd like the idea that I'm entertaining a human. Nathan on the other hand is mated I think he'll get it. I need to tell them both together when the time is right but for now Grace is my little secret and I like it that way I have her all to myself.

'Morning baby, it's finally Saturday! See you soon'

I put my phone back down and swing myself out of bed and throw on a pair of shorts and a t shirt and head out of my room and down to the training grounds. I just need to do an hours training so it didn't look too suspicious, I could get that done get shower, dressed and ready to pick Grace up.

The hour training seemed to drag, I let Dan take the session because I just couldn't focus on anything else other than seeing Grace. As we walked into the pack house and down to the dining hall Dan nudged my arm.

"Hey man is everything okay? You seemed distant in training?"

Shit. I really needed to pull myself together.

"Yeah course, I'm all good. Just thinking about breakfast that's all I'm starved!" I chuckled lightly and slapped him on the back.

Just as I said it Dan's stomach rumbled.

"Ahh tell me about it man, come on let's dig in"

We laughed and walked over to the top table where my mom and Jamie were already sat and eating breakfast, just as i sat down a large stack of pancakes with crisp bacon and syrup were placed in front of me, the smell infiltrated my nostrils and made my mouth water.

I glanced up at Marie our cook and thanked her, she nodded with a big grin on her face.

"Only the best for you Alpha." She nodded and started to walk away.

"Hey what about the Beta?" Dan jokingly called after her.

"Oh don't worry yours is coming!" She laughed before disappearing back to the kitchen.

I sat for a moment and took in the busy Saturday morning hall, the pups eager for breakfast excited to go off and spend time with their parents as there was no school today. The warriors sat joking and laughing. The mated couples looking lovingly into each other's eyes, the un mated, just turned 18 sneaking glances at the door every time someone walked in hoping it to be their new found mate.

"It's wonderful isn't it.." my mom leaned over and whispered to me breaking me from my thought.

I turned and smiled.

"It really is, I couldn't ask for a better pack."

"No my darling boy, this pack couldn't ask for a better leader. Now come on, eat up or you'll be late." Just as my mom said it Dan's head turned to us, that damn wolf hearing.

"Hey late for what?"

I'd been practising this lie all night.

"Ah sorry man I forgot to mention it, I'm meeting up with the boys from Alpha training camp today we're going to go for a round of golf and a few beers and catch up." I said shrugging my shoulders.

"Ahh right, you're going early aren't you?" He said raising a brow.

"You know how it is when you haven't seen anyone for a while got to make the most of it.. plus it's an early t off " I said trying to brush it off.

Just as he was about to open his mouth again Marie appeared with his breakfast soon cutting him from his suspicions. Dan was the best Beta I could ask for but one thing I was grateful for right at this moment was his obsession for food and the distraction it caused him.

I picked up my fork and started eating as quick as I could without making myself look like a pig. I couldn't wait to get out of there, my moms voice filled my head as I took another bite.

"Where are you taking her today?"

I linked back.

"I'm going to take her to the lake to the south of our territory it's no man's land so no one from ours or neighbouring packs will be there."

"Good idea, me and Jamie could take a stroll in wolf form just to keep an eye out for anything. Link us if you need us." She glanced up from her breakfast and gave me a quick wink.

"Thanks mom" I said before finishing the rest of my food.

Walking out of the dining hall was quite the task, everyone wanted to speak to their Alpha. Usually I loved that my pack was so warm and friendly but today I just wanted to get out of there and up to my room to get ready for my day with Grace.

I climbed the stairs two at a time my excitement growing with each ticking second, I walked in my room and straight over to my phone to check it.

A message flashed on my screen.

"Morning Handsome, so excited to see that face of yours!"

My heart missed a beat, I can't believe how much she affects me physically, I smiled and looked at the time 7:47. Great enough time to shower and head to hers, finally a full day with her. If I closed my eyes and inhaled deeply I could almost smell the orange and honey scent, I opened my eyes and turned to the mirror looking at myself. Who'd have thought this big bad wolf could have been turned into a love sick puppy. I laughed to myself whilst heading to the shower.

After showering I stepped into my closet and fished out some black shorts and a white t shirt. I got changed and pulled on a black baseball cap and my sneakers before heading out towards the door. I walked down the stairs and into the main entrance hall of the pack house, it was fairly quiet as most of the pack were in the dining hall still eating breakfast. Jamie appeared round the corner as I was about to head out the main door.

"Hey!" She beamed walking towards me. "Ready for your day?" She looked around first making sure no one was there to listen.

I couldn't help but grin back at her.

"Yeah I can't wait, hey mom mentioned about you and her taking a little stroll down and around the lake later on just make sure you hang back yeah? I don't want Grace to be scared." I said concern on my face.

"Of course Zan, we would never do anything to jeopardise this. Anyway go on get going!" She said pushing my arm lightly.

I smiled and thanked her as I begun to walk towards the doors.

"Oh hey, one more thing check the trunk!" She said giggling before shooting off.

I got out to the car and popped the trunk curious to see what was inside. I smiled to myself when I saw, a blanket and a backpack filled with all kinds of goodies, water, a small bottle of wine, sweet treats and cool bag with chocolate and strawberries. I linked Jamie quickly.

"You are the best sis!"

"I know" quickly came back through. I laughed and shut the trunk heading round to the door and getting in the car.

'On my way baby' I text Grace and put my phone into the holder, belted up and set off down the drive way, I couldn't help the bubbles of excitement in my stomach at the thought of seeing her again. And this time we get to spend a whole day together, I turned the music up and rolled my window down as I sped out of the territory and into the city.

After what felt like the longest 30 minute driver ever I pulled up out side Graces' just as I was about to be a gentleman and turn the engine off and go collect her she sprung out from the door.

She smiled wildly before turning to lock it, her ass looked amazing in her grey gym pants, the tight gym top framing her tiny waist and boobs perfectly. I almost purred in delight.

She run round to the passenger side and hopped in the truck instantly leaning over and placing a soft gentle kiss on my lips. It took me by surprise almost, it was the most natural thing in the world.

"Hey" I grinned at her uncontrollably.

"Hey" she reciprocated my grin. "So tell me, what is it you've got planned for today?" She raised a brow questioningly.

I chuckled as I pulled away and drove back towards the edge of our territory. "All you'll see my princess." I glanced over and threw her a quick wink. Her hair was pulled back today in to a sleek pony tail, showing off her perfect face. Even with hardly any make up on, she radiated beauty. Goddess the girl could be covered in swamp mud and I'd still think she was the most beautiful girl on earth, how was she only human?

Maybe the goddess had blessed me after all.
