ALF SHIFTED HIS WEIGHT and bit back a groan of pain. His shoulder throbbed painfully and his sleeve was wet with blood. He tried to move but his wrists and ankles were bound with duct tape. They’d thrown him to the ground so that his weight rested on the wound, keeping it open and bleeding despite his attempts to shift to his back. He was jammed between the couch and the dresser, unable to move. There were voices across the small house. Angry voices.
