Chapter Twenty-Six The mechanical aliens had taken over an old, disused warehouse in Canary Wharf. The place had somehow escaped the recent regeneration of the area. It stood at the end of a lane, recently fallen snow dusting its dark, ancient roof and the edges of broken window panes. A placktoid in the shape of a giant paperclip had brought Carrie there, carrying her within its internal forcefield.
