“You ready to show me what you’ve got, Xanthus?”
The stallion bobbed its great head and stomped the ground as if impatient to run.
“Good.” Lucius looked at how far down the ground was and felt a flutter in his gut before he kneed the stallion into action. One…two…three!
Lucius gave the slightest squeeze with his legs and Xanthus started to walk, then a light kick with one leg brought him into a canter.
The feeling was unbelievable, for as Xanthus bobbed smoothly up and down, Lucius felt as though he were upon the crest of a tidal wave that was ready to crash down at any moment.
