9 My outburst drew the attention of a woman getting into an old Cavalier parked nose to nose with my rented box. Her expression said she didn’t disagree with the sentiment, but she wasn’t about to encourage me either. She didn’t waste any time zipping out of her space and the lot, perhaps fearing that I’d confuse “drive” and “reverse” in my agitated state. Perhaps she was right. For some reason the thought brought a smile to my face. I slowly got into my car, careful of my head and my fragile peace of mind. I didn’t blame Mike and Richard for sending a woman in to see Cissy, especially after Mike had met with her and likely clued in on the man-done-her-wrong angle. It was a smart call.
