They stood up and followed her into the crowd, laughing and dancing. After two more fun party songs, the DJ slowed things down with a love song. When Lissa turned to walk back to the chairs, Dan unexpectedly grabbed her right hand. Electricity shot up her arm and she turned back to face him, meeting his eyes.
He held her gaze intensely. “May I have this dance?”
She nodded, unable to speak. Her heart raced as he pulled her closer, placing his right hand on her lower back. His left hand continued holding her right hand, and placed it on his chest. She could feel his heart racing as well. Her left hand was on his shoulder, and she could feel his muscles through the thin dress shirt. Their bodies were nearly touching, she could feel the heat radiating between them. His eyes never left hers as they slowly swayed to the music. The scent of cologne mixed with his sweat, was intoxicating.
The song ended much too soon, and they reluctantly parted. But he kept holding her hand as they walked back to their seats. Amber and Riley were deep in conversation, so Lissa turned slightly in her chair to face Dan.
“Thank you for the dance,” he said, causing her to blush.
“My pleasure” she replied softly.
“Can I tell you a secret?” he asked.
“Sure.”
He leaned his head down until his lips were brushing against her ear.
“I think you are very beautiful. I’ve wanted you for myself since the first time we met.”
Her eyes fluttered closed and a shiver ran down her spine as his hot breath caressed her neck.
“Dan…” she breathed. Their fingers were still entwined. He brought his other hand up to caress her cheek as his lips nibbled her earlobe. Then he pulled back.
“Lissa,” he said in a husky voice.
She opened her eyes and met his intense stare. She could drown in those eyes.
“Can I kiss you?” he murmured.
She swallowed, unable to speak. Her lips parted slightly in anticipation as she nodded. Dan smirked before leaning in to capture her lips softly. She felt him nibble at her bottom lip, then suck on it like a piece of candy. A fire started raging in her, she whimpered. He pulled her closer and deepened the kiss, teasing her tongue with his for a few moments. Then he pulled pack and rested his forehead on hers and smiled.
“Wow!” she said breathlessly.
“That was incredible! So worth the wait.” Dan smiled. “Wanna dance some more?”
“Duh!” she giggled. “Let’s go put in a request with the DJ?”

For the next two hours, they were stuck like glue. They laughed and danced to their favorite songs. Each time a love song played, Dan would pull her against him, molding her body to his. Such sweet torture. He had wanted this for so long, and couldn’t get enough. She felt so right, and God those lips!
It was nearly midnight, and they were slowly swaying together, listening to “When I Look Into Your Eyes” by Firehouse. He knew they would have to leave soon, but he wasn’t ready to let her go. Damn it! There are too many people in here.
“Do you want to step outside for a few minutes for some fresh air?” he asked her hopefully.
“Okay. They won’t let us back in, but the dance is almost over anyway.”
First they found Riley and Amber buying more sodas. Those two really hit it off tonight, and hung out the whole time getting to know each other.
“Hey Rei, I’m going to walk Lissa to her car. Meet you out front in a bit.”
“It’s cool man, no rush.” He replied with a wink as he put his arm around Amber’s shoulders, and she smiled.
“Bye Amber, see you Monday!” Lissa said and waved as she turned to go. Dan laced his fingers with hers and let her lead the way through the building.
As soon as they were out the back door of the school, he quickly pulled her so her back was against him and wrapped his arms around her waist, burying his face in her beautiful hair. “Alone at last!”
