Chapter 2
Diana and Bobby sat together, gazing out at the gentle waves lapping the shore. It was a moment of bliss, and Diana couldn't help but sigh. She felt relaxed and content, the weight of the world lifting off her shoulders.
Unbeknownst to her, Diana had been stealing glances at Bobby for longer than she intended. Lost in her thoughts, she didn't realize that he had noticed. He frowned and asked her, "What?" Then, he smiled, and it felt like her heart skipped a beat. She had to resist the urge to jump onto his lap and kiss him passionately. Flustered, she swallowed hard and shifted her gaze away. "This is so embarrassing," she thought to herself, her cheeks flushing.
She heard Bobby chuckle, and her heart raced as she felt his hand gently touch the back of her head. She didn't dare look at him; she didn't want him to see her face, now redder than ever. "Why..." she wondered, her thoughts a jumble.
Desperate to break the tension, Diana shifted her attention to the boys. Hanbin and June were in the midst of a playful argument over which songs to play. It was downright comical. "Haha, I played 'Love Scenario' earlier," Diana mentioned, "but they all protested, asking for something else." So, she let them choose the music while they continued to enjoy their drinks.
Suddenly, an idea struck the boys. They decided to have a swimming race, with the losers tasked with cleaning up afterward. They divided into two teams: Team Bobby and Team Hanbin, with June & DK, and Jinan & Chan forming the other teams. Yunyheong, true to form, didn't join them; he was busy taking selfies as usual, utterly enamored with himself.
The game began, and all of them were thoroughly hyped. Cheers and laughter filled the air as they watched the boys compete. They acted like a bunch of teenagers, full of energy and silliness.
In the end, Team Bobby emerged victorious, though there was a bit of controversy involving June's tactics. Poor Jinan lost because June and Bobby had removed his shorts while swimming, a playful prank that left everyone in stitches. Diana's throat hurt from laughing so hard, and she couldn't help but shake her head at their antics.
Back at the table, June suggested they all have a drink to celebrate their newfound freedom. They danced and sang like there was no tomorrow. Diana felt a bit tipsy and reached for her phone to order more drinks, but to her dismay, it ran out of battery. She had forgotten to charge it earlier, and irritation coursed through her. However, she still needed to go back to her room to get her charger.
Bobby noticed her distress and asked, "Are you okay?" Diana assured him she was fine but needed to fetch her charger from her room. She was feeling a bit dizzy, and her tipsy smile must have given it away. Bobby, in a kind gesture, offered to get the charger for her. Grateful for his help, Diana accepted, saying thanks.
Bobby went upstairs to Diana's room, and she wondered why it was taking him so long to retrieve her charger when it was right there on her table. Then it hit her like a bolt of lightning. She realized her room had a large, matte portrait of Bobby shirtless right above her bed. Panic surged through her veins, and she just wanted to disappear. She felt so shy!
She couldn't decide what to do next. She wasn't sure if Bobby had seen it, but her anxiety was through the roof. She didn't want to face the embarrassment of that situation. Yet, there was no way to avoid it. With a mix of dread and curiosity, she dashed to her room.
There, she found Bobby sitting on her bed, looking up at the ceiling. Diana's heart pounded, and all she could muster was a feeble, "I'm sorry." Bobby stared at her for what felt like an eternity. She wished the floor would open up and swallow her whole; her palms were clammy with sweat.
But then, to her shock, Bobby burst into laughter. Diana froze, not sure how to react. It was unexpected, to say the least. "WTH?" she thought to herself, her mind in a whirl. Her intimidating confidence card came to her rescue, and she assured him it was just a gift from some close friends for her birthday last year, a playful tease because they knew she loved iKON. Hearing her explanation, Bobby stopped laughing.
"Naked? Me?" he asked, grinning.
Diana's heart raced, and she felt herself on the verge of panicking and starting to stutter. "I, um... It's not like that. They just wanted to tease me, that's all."
Bobby continued to stare at her with that mischievous grin. Diana was torn between wanting to bite him or punch him in the face. She snapped out of her wild thoughts, reminding herself not to act like an i***t.
Suddenly, Bobby reached out, taking her hand and asking her to sit in front of him. Her heart pounded even harder, and she couldn't help but wonder where this conversation was going.
"Thank you, Diana," he began, his tone sincere and heartfelt. "I am really grateful for you being our new boss. I actually wanted to hug you since the day we met, but I'm too shy... To be honest, when I first saw you at the meeting, I thought you were just here for business to make a profit, nothing more. So, I was so surprised when I heard all that you have done for us throughout our journey. Thank you from the bottom of my heart."
He held her hands and looked into her eyes, his sincerity unmistakable. Diana hadn't even noticed that tears were streaming down her face. Bobby pulled her into a warm hug, and she couldn't help but whisper, "I love you so much."
Their eyes locked, and it felt like time stood still. Diana's heart raced, and she thought, "I'm freaking ready!"
With emotions running high and the effects of the drinks taking hold, Bobby gently touched her face with one hand while the other rested on her waist. Their eyes never wavered as they searched for answers, and he leaned closer.
But what happened next, well,
