Avalon went to see her maternal grand and great-grandparents who shared a wing just off the main hall of the palace. Her paternal grand and great-grandparents lived in a separate wing but the couples visited often. Most of the wing, though huge, was unused since it was just the four of them. They shared a main living area and kitchen and their bed/lakerooms each had a private pool that was fed by the main lake. There was also a lake room big enough to fit about 10 people comfortably in case they had guests. Every bed/lakeroom had a pool. We didnʻt have beds like normal people, we needed to sleep in the water. Our beds were comfortably made with lake kelp and covered with sand. Luminescent fish, slugs, and snails helped to light the rooms.
