I find Catherine in the hospital corridor while her mother is being treated in the emergency room. She's trying to calm the boys who are very nervous. I feel my heart race with every step I take towards them. I don't know why Catherine didn't tell me she was a mom. Even though I'm dying to question her, I know this isn't the time to do it, given the whole situation.
But still, I'm very upset about all this. I hate being surprised, especially with something like this.
Damn, she's a mom! That's not something people just leave out, especially since we were so close. But now everything makes sense—the fact that I never saw her mother, that she has a scar on her belly, and that she hardly talks about her family. She was hiding all this from me, and I wonder what else she could be
