I kept my eyes fixed on her without saying anything, and she did the same.
"I ask you to please check yourselves so that I can finish my examination," the doctor interjected into our affair. I had almost forgotten she was there.
We both nodded in agreement simultaneously.
"Sorry, Doctor," Catherine said.
I remained silent next to Catherine while the doctor explained that she would need an X-ray and would have to wait to assess the results.
We left the doctor's office, and I questioned her immediately in the hallway.
"Catherine, you should have told me you weren't feeling well. How are you going to work like this?" I asked while pushing the wheelchair toward the X-ray room.
"Samuel, it wouldn’t have made any difference," she said.
