Catherine Smith After spending a few minutes watching over my children as they slept, Thomas and I slowly got out of bed to avoid waking them. Thomas kisses each of them on the forehead before leaving the room, and I do the same. After that, we both leave in silence, heading to my living room. The clock on the rack shows exactly two in the morning, and I'm surprised it's already early morning. "Wow, it's late," I say in a low voice, knowing that my mother is already asleep at this hour.
