"Good morning, Rose. How are you?" Merlin asked, raising an eyebrow at her.
"I see you arrived early today, Merlin. Have you decided to take the job seriously?" Rose asked sarcastically.
Merlin smiled at her in the same way. "I always take my job seriously, Rose, and Samuel knows that well."
I was shocked to hear Merlin respond like that.
Rose pursed her lips to the side, her eyes resting on me. "I see you haven’t even reached the halfway point of your work, Catherine, but you're chatting. Are you already trying to get fired on your first day?" she asked angrily.
I swallowed hard.
"Would you be the one to fire her, Rose? Samuel doesn’t fire anyone on their first day without a really serious reason," Merlin said, drawing Rose's attention.
