"Thomas, it's great to see you here tonight." As soon as I turn to the side, I see Dr. Madelyn, the doctor who treated Madu at the hospital the other day.
"Hello, Dr. Madelyn, it's a surprise to see you here." I say, standing up to greet her, but eager to move away quickly to find Catherine.
Her smile widens.
"Please don't call me doctor, we're not in a hospital." she says, her cheeks turning slightly red.
"You're right, would you like a drink?" I ask out of courtesy.
She nods, and I take a glass of champagne from a passing waiter and give it to her.
