Rupert Washington was a light sleeper, easily woken by the slightest noise. Elizabeth Black knew this well, and she understood why Rupert Washington found her noisy. The small bed for the caregiver creaked with every movement, indeed making a lot of noise.
For Rupert Washington's health and rest, Elizabeth Black didn't dare to waste another minute. She quickly put away the small bed and lay down next to Rupert Washington. To avoid disturbing him, she tried to move to the side as much as possible. However, the hospital bed was much smaller compared to their bed at home. Moving to the side meant that she almost hung off the edge of the bed.
