The Alpha’s Surprising Mate

Chapter Three

Genny’s mom, Agnes, looked just like Genny but is heavier set. She was very nice and happily let me help in the kitchen.

As we were bringing dishes out Alpha Gabriel happened to come in the room. I quickly averted my eyes and I could feel a blush coming up my neck and settling in my cheeks. He was VERY good looking!

I hurried back into the kitchen to help bring out more food. When I came back out I could not see Alpha Gabriel.

A pang of disappointment laced through me. Realizing this, I shook my head. What’s happening to me? I don’t even know him!

I quickly finished putting out the dishes with the other kitchen staff then Agnes instructed me we were to go out and eat.

I nearly had a panic attack because at Blood Moon we were not permitted to eat with any of the pack members and were only allowed to eat what ever was left over.

She reassured me it was okay and Genny took me by the hand and brought me out to get some food.

Gabriel’s P.O.V

Seeing her in that dress with her hair down immediately made me hard. I had to leave to go have a cold shower before Ace took over and marked and mated her right then and there.

I haven’t been able to stop thinking about her since I saw her earlier. Her mesmerizing eyes haunted me. I could still smell her mouth watering scent.

I had to have a second shower before being able to make my way back to the dinning hall. When I walked in I was immediately enveloped in her tantalizing scent.

Being around her was going to be hard. I need to reject her sooner than later but she needs her wolf before I can do so. These next couple weeks were going to be hell.

Lilliana’s P.O.V

After dinner Genny and I went back to the cottage and she changed into some work out clothes.

“I’m going to go to the gym and then for a run, would you like to come with me?”

I hesitated for a moment. I hadn’t been to a gym in a very long time and I couldn’t even remember the last time I worked out.

I slowly nodded my head, I may as well try and get fit again now that I was free. Or as free as I can be anyways.

Genny’s sister had brought over a lot more clothes than I had realized. Among them were some work out clothes and sports bras.

We went to the gym for a couple hours and I guess I was in better shape than I thought. We sparred with each other for a little bit and it was as if I never forgot the moves my father and his Beta Archie taught me.

Genny and I were panting afterwards.

“How do you know how to fight so well?”

I shyly smiled and told her my father had taught me some moves before he passed.

I think she could tell I didn’t want to talk about it because she didn’t ask anymore questions after that.

We went home and showered and got ready for bed and for the first time in nearly 8 years I slept through the night and didn’t have the nightmare.

I awoke in the morning around 4 and searched through the clothes that were given to me. I found a pair of jeans and a t-shirt to wear. After dressing I went up to the pack house to see if Genny’s mom or anyone was working yet. To my surprise the kitchen was empty so I decided I would get a head start on the baking like I did at Blood Mood.

I got all the ingredients I needed from the fridge and set them on the counter then hunted through the cupboards to find the rest of the ingredients I needed.

“What are you doing?” Came an amused voice from behind me.

I jumped and dropped the flour I had been holding causing a large cloud to cover the front of me. I quickly turned around to see Alpha Gabriel looking at me and then bursting out laughing.

I felt my cheeks heat as I apologized profusely and went in search for a broom and dustpan. He stopped me by taking my wrist in his hand and pulled me to him.

I instantly stopped moving, afraid to even breathe. He slowly reached his hand up to wipe the flour off my cheek.

My stomach was doing all kinds of flips and I could feel myself melting into his touch. His fingers brushed over my lips causing the smallest tingles to leave a trail behind it.

He leaned in as I closed my eyes. Was he going to kiss me? I’ve never been kissed before. I felt his breath on my lips and just as I thought he was going to seal his lips over mine he quickly pulled back.

I flushed and quickly turned around and ran from the room. My heart beating a mile a minute and unable to comprehend what just happened. I waited 10 minutes before peaking my head back into the kitchen and seeing he was gone. Taking a deep breath I went back in to finished my job.

Gabriel’s P.O.V

What the hell just happened?! I was surprised to see anyone in the kitchen so early but even more surprised when I realized it was my beautiful Lily. My beautiful Lily?! I shook my head again trying to clear my head. I can’t believe I almost kissed her. Feeling her breath on my skin sent Ace into a frenzy and I had to do everything in my power to pull away.

She’s just so tempting. How am I supposed to stay away from her for two weeks?

Don’t, you i***t. She is our mate! We need her! Ace snarled.

It’s not that easy!

No it’s exactly that easy! You don’t know her or her history! What was she before she was forced into SLAVERY?! He snarled becoming enraged over the fact our mate was a slave.

Before I could respond he put up a wall blocking me out. He was upset and I understood why and he did have a point. I will have to sit down and talk to her about everything and explain things and I should do it before her birthday. I just hope she doesn’t freak out.
