The next morning, reporters crowded the entrance of the hotel ballroom.
Questions flew everywhere.
“Mr. Vale! Is the marriage real?” “Who is Ella Morgan?” “Are wedding plans already prepared?”
Ella’s hands trembled.
Damien noticed immediately.
Without warning, he wrapped one arm protectively around her waist.
The reporters gasped.
“Relax,” he whispered.
The warmth of his hand distracted Ella more than the cameras.
During the interview, a female reporter suddenly smirked.
“Miss Morgan, many people believe you’re only after Mr. Vale’s money. What’s your response?”
The room became silent.
Ella’s face burned with embarrassment.
But before she could answer, Damien spoke coldly.
“My fiancée doesn’t need to explain herself to anyone.”
Everyone froze.
Damien Vale was protecting her publicly.
Even Ella looked shocked.
Later that evening, Damien’s ex-fiancée Sophia confronted Ella outside the mansion.
Sophia’s eyes were filled with anger.
“You think you can replace me?”
Ella sighed.
“Trust me, this arrangement isn’t what you think.”
Sophia stepped closer.
“You have no idea who Damien really is.”
As Sophia drove away, Ella couldn’t stop thinking about her warning.
