NIC'S POV
"What was that reaction for?" I asked storming back into the house after seeing Cece off. "I brought my girlfriend to show her to you and you just told her to leave? You too Iris?" I asked angrily.
"I was just trying to protect you kids."
"Protect us from what? Cecelia? We're a house full of werewolves and we're afraid of an American girl?!! Screw this." I kicked the couch in anger, sending it flying.
"Nic it's not like that, please listen to mom." Iris pleaded
"You both judged her without even knowing her, there's nothing you'd say for me to listen." I said storming off the my room.
"I know her." Alima whispered underneath her breath. She looked up at me with eyes filled with pain.
"I know her Nic." Alima repeated without saying further.
"There's no way you'd know her, she's never been her before." I claimed angrily walking away.
"I know her because she's my daughter!!!!" Alima yelled making me stop dead on my tracks.
I turned back to her, turning to Iris who seemed to know this already. "Wha... What do you mean by Cece is your daughter." I asked dumbstricken. But both Iris and Alima were quiet.
"That's not true, that can't be true. You're lying. Iris she's lying right?" I asked desperately hoping they're just pulling some kind of prank on me.
"She's telling the truth..." Iris replied with voice cracking, trying not to cry.
"But she can't be telling the truth." I yelled in disapproval.
"Cecelia Rufus, born in Nenishia during the time of the hawk, she's eighteen years old. She's left handed and mostly moves her right index finger in a circle whenever she's nervous. And she also only has a father. These are some of the basic qualities of my six year old I left back in Nenishia when I fled." Alima commented.
"That can't be true mom. You said your husband was an Alpha who demanded that you be killed because you couldn't give him a son in almost ten years of marriage." I reminded her
"Yes. That's true."
"But if Cece is your six year old daughter, that means she's... She's just like us, a werewolf." I asked even though I knew what the answer would be. It means she knew what a wolfsbane is, and what it does to werewolves when she gave it to me.
"Was she testing me? To know if I was like her?" I muttered to myself.
"Testing you? What do you mean?" Alima asked running to me worried.
"She gave me a bottle filled with wolfsbane, and asked me to drink it. She called it an energy drink and I thought she didn't know any better. But if she's a werewolf, then..."
"She was trying to know if you were one too." Alima completed. "We need to leave, Iris, pack up." She instructed as Iris ran upstairs.
"Leave? Why?" I asked confused.
"She wasn't the one testing you. They told her to." My mom said running upstairs to join Iris in packing, leaving me all confused in the sitting room downstairs. I went upstairs and saw as my family packed up in fear because of Cece.
"What's going on mom? Why are you so afraid of your own daughter?" I asked but no one answered me. "Mom talk to me, why are you afraid of Cece?!!" I yelled
"Because she's a Luna Nic!!" Alima yelled back.
"A Luna is never alone. She always has a werewolf with her. But Cece is not just a Luna, she's a Luna to a very powerful Alpha who's in hiding right now.
The whole of Azevitet is looking for him. There's at least a dozen of pack, zetas and gammas all around her. They'd do a thorough background check on anyone she comes in contact with just to get to her Alpha.
You said they gave you wolfsbane yesterday, correct?"
"Yes." I responded now softly.
"It means they're already looking into us. If they find out about Iris and I, Iris might be spared and taken back to Nenishia. But me, they'll just finish what they started. They might be hear already, we need to leave." She said grabbing her bag.
"No they're not. Her friend Kalib came and took her away. I'm guessing he's a werewolf too. But it didn't seem like they were planning an operation."
"What do you mean. They saw your wolf side and didn't do anything?" She asked surprised.
"Maybe I should have led with that, I gulped down the wolfsbane like water so I don't think they know I'm a werewolf. I don't think they looked into either of you either." I explained.
"You drank wolfsbane?" Iris asked.
"That's not possible." Alima added in disbelief.
"Here." I walked into Alima's room taking the bottle of wolfsbane about 25cl of liquid, gulping it all down. "The one she made me drink was twice this bottle. I did– vomit it later but, I didn't flinch in front of her.
Even if she had doubts before about my identity, she's 100% sure that I'm a human now. And if her pack of followers were indeed watching, I'm sure they believed it too." I assured Alima and Iris.
"How can you be talking right now? I can't even take a drop of that. Is it because I'm still small?" Iris asked.
"I'm big, but even I can't take a teaspoon of that, without flinching. Yet, you just gulped down an entire bottle? Are you sure you're a werewolf?"
"See? Even you who knows the truth about me is doubting it. Talk less of them. Now can we talk about Cece, the two timing bitch." I said sitting on Alima's bed.
"Why would you call her a two timing b***h? Is she cheating on you?" Alima asked.
"You said she's a Luna, that means she has a man or werewolf I guess, and yet, she pretends to be my girlfriend?"
"It's not like that. An alpha imprints on his Luna during sex..."
"Yeah I know that." I interrupted.
"According to what I heard, she doesn't know who imprinted on her. She was drunk and couldn't even remember his face."
"So he did it without her consent? Can werewolves do that?"
"Yeah werewolves can do that but she can disagree if she wins over him in a battle. Or if another male does. Then that male becomes her mate." Alima explains.
"What kind of uncivilized person gets engaged to a girl without tell her first? Is he stupid?"
"I don't know, he must have his own plans." Alima replied nonchalantly.
"So all I have to do is fight and defeat this werewolf In a battle and Cece would be mine?" I asked as my mom burst into laughter.
"Cece can't be yours unless you risk exposing us. But even if that wasn't the case, you can't have Cece. Just give up Nic." Alima advised.
"But I like this one. I even brought her home. That says a lot." I insisted.
"Yes, It does say a lot, but you brought the wrong girl home. Cecelia belongs to The Senior Elder." Alima said as a spear pierced through my heart.
Senior Elder? Alima knows about the Senior Elder my mom told me about? What could this mean, does that mean there are many other Senior Elders in the Wolfy land, just like me?
