Her knight

Chapter Four

They got to Edinburgh before dusk after two days ride from

the inn they had stayed. They had barely rested and the horses

were tired and so were they. As they approached the keep

which was to be her new home, Vanessa looked around and

took notice of the surroundings and observed that it was well

fortified. When they got to the gate of the keep, Magnus gave

the call and the gate was opened and they rode in then he

helped Vanessa off her horse after which he called the third in

command Alexander and gave him some instructions before

he led her to the entrance of the keep followed closely by Mary.

An elderly woman came to greet them when they entered the

keep.

‘Welcome to Hermon keep, my lady,’ she greeted. ‘I’m Agnes

and I’ve been taking care of the keep in the absence of the lady

of the house but since you are here Lady Herbert, I will hand

over the duty to you. If you need any help please let me know.

‘Thanks Agnes. I will really appreciate your help as I barely

know how to take care of a household.’ Magnus stepped

forward and spoke to Agnes.

‘Can you show her to the master bedroom, Agnes? We have

barely rested and she needs plenty of it,’ he told her then he

turned to Vanessa. ‘My lady, should you need anything ask

Agnes and she will inform me.’‘Alright. This way my lady,’ Agnes said taking the lead. As they

made their way to the room, Vanessa noticed people peeping

at her. She was going to ask Agnes about them but that would

be after she had rested. She could barely hold herself up and

desperately needed the comfort of a bed. When they got to the

room, Vanessa looked around and took note of the

decorations in his room. It was typical of who she was able to

have a glimpse of the few days they were together and distantly

registered what she would renovate. She went over to the bed

and sat down.

‘Your room will be across the hall, so you can be close to your

lady,’ Agnes informed Mary who just stood there and nodded.

There was a knock on the door and Mary went to answer it.

She opened the door wider and allowed the men to carry in the

boxes. She inspected them as they carried them in while Agnes

showed them where to drop the boxes then she closed the

door after they left.

‘The boxes are all accounted for my lady,’ Mary told Vanessa.

‘Alright. I’m going to take a little nap and I advise you do same

if you so wish. I’m tired and I’m sure you are too so you can

help me unpack later when you have rested.’ Agnes left the

room after promising to send someone to inform them when

dinner was ready while Mary helped her change into a shift.

After Mary left, she laid down and was fast asleep as soon as

her head touched the pillow.

Adam rode as fast as he could with Andrew at his heels. He

had not intended to take this long but Elaine had not been

around and he had to wait for her. She had apologized and said

she had gone into the village to get some herbs for her sick

mother. She gave him the chest after which she gave him a big

hug and congratulated him on this wedding. They had been

close friends as children before he had been sent to begin his

knighthood training at the age of seven. He urged the horse

forward when he had a glimpse of home. He couldn’t wait to

see his wife. When he got to the gate, he gave the call and the

gate was opened then he rode towards the keep and

dismounted even before the horse came to a stop. It was nearly

dawn and some people were already awake and going about

their chores. Magnus came to meet him at the entrance of the

keep and filled him in on all that happened in his absence.

‘You’ve done well Magnus,’ Adam told him when they got to

the stairs leading to his room. ‘I’ll receive the remaining

briefing later in the day but in the meantime, I have a wife

waiting for me on my bed.’ He patted his back when he saw

the frown on Magnus face then he hurried up the stairs and

made for his room. There was still enough time to make love

to his wife before the whole keep wakes and he would be

required downstairs. He slowly opened the door and got in. She laid on the bed and seemed unaware of his presence. The

fire in the hearth had nearly burned out and the room was cold.

He safely put away the chest where he knew she would not

find it until he was ready to show her what laid within then he

proceeded to add more wood to the fire to warm up the room

then he discarded every inch of his clothing and got into bed

beside her. He touched her shoulder and they were cold. She

must have been very cold when the heat coming from the heat

reduced. She stirred and turn around to face him, her eyes

slightly open. She was still very sleepy.

‘Is that you Adam or is it my fantasy coming to life?’ Vanessa

asked sleepily. She had been dreaming about him touching her

and doing wonderful things to her and maybe she had conjured

him from her imagination.

‘What have you been fantasizing about dear wife?’ Adam asked

placing a kiss on her forehead. Her eyes flew open at once as

sleep disappeared from them.

‘You are home. When did you come in? I’m sorry I didn’t hear

you come in.’

‘I came in few minutes ago and you were fast asleep. You

couldn’t have heard me.’ He drew her closer to him and kissed

her savoring her lips and liking the taste of them. She kissed

him back hungrily. This had been what she had been dreaming

about. ‘You still haven’t told me what your fantasy was,’ Adam

asked breaking the kiss. He looked at her and drank in her beauty. He couldn’t believe she was his. Vanessa sighed from

the loss of contact. She had missed him dearly after spending

two lonely nights on his bed waiting for him.

‘I was fantasizing about this,’ she said and kissed him again.

She didn’t know what was wrong with her but she wanted him

and fast. Adam sensed her need and didn’t waste time. He too

could hardly control himself and that had been why he had

driven hard overworking Max. He rolled and was on top of

her. Adam took off her shift and marveled at her full breast.

He bent and took a n****e in his mouth suckling it and enjoying

her reaction as she gasped then he took the other one in his

finger and played with it.

‘Adam,’ she called his name almost as a whisper. She wanted

him and she wanted him now. She wriggled her hips trying to

lift them up.

‘Easy my sweet. I’ll do just what you want.’ He put one finger

into her heat checking for her readiness and her almost spilled

over. She was more than ready. He positioned himself and

entered her in one swift thrust burying himself to the hilt.

Vanessa screamed out in excitement as he began to move

increasing his pace at each thrust and soon, they were reaching

the very height they wanted. Vanessa c****x hit her hard taking

all she could give and Adam found his release after her spilling

his seed hot and hard. They both collapsed on the bed still

joined and Adam rolled to the side holding her to avoid pressing his weight on her. They said nothing and fell asleep in

each other’s arms.

Vanessa woke up smiling. Her body ached in the right places.

Mary knocked on the door and came in.

‘Good morning my lady. You must have just woken up.’

Vanessa stood taking the cover with her to cover her naked

body and walked to the window and looked out lifting up her

head up and bathing in the sun.

‘Yes. Adam came home early this morning. Help me sort out

what to wear today.’ They sort through her wardrobe and

finally settled on a blue gown with matching slippers. Mary

helped her dress made her hair. Satisfied with her looks, she

made her way downstairs. She had been introduced to the

women who are involved in the day to day running of the keep

the morning after she had arrived. She had met Fiona and her

thirteen years old daughter Hannah who were in charge of the

kitchen and Alfred her husband who was in charge of bringing

in the woods. Vanessa walked to the kitchen and after talking

with Hannah went in search of Agnes who was instructing her

on how to run the keep. She had tried to take up the running

of the keep but she had failed on that so she had turned to

Agnes and had confided in her how she lacked the training on

how to run a household because she had not been ready for

marriage. The older woman had been willing and eager to help her. Lessons had started straight away and each day she was improving in her ability to run the keep.
